Hi

I'm new to this and my question is - when giving a blow job do you ask them to wear a condom? I know that it doesn't sound erotic but a friend of mine contracted gonorrhoea in his throat and it's a concern for me. What is the accepted thing to do?

Just do what you are most comfortable with. If people aren't happy with your limits then walk away. There is no right or wrong way x

Make sure you make it clear to man you want them to wear condom, and take your own. It's up to you to set your own boundaries and preferences. It's not about what is acceptable to others. XXX

Of course this is your call completely, but don't be too suprised if some guys query the protection..

It is horses for courses and after weighing up the pros and cons,I am not alone in refusing to do protected oral.

I have sucked off a lot of guys bare because i vomit at the taste of condoms and love cum. In 5 years i have never had any sti issues.

Just tell the GUM clinic and they will do a throat swab as well. I also prefer cut cocks which are less likely to harbour STI infections.

I have sucked thousands of cocks and still had no isues. Prefer uncut and not convinced it is a 'higher risk'than cut.

NHS and most medical authorities say circumcised cocks are less likely to carry or contract STI. Its a medical fact. Google it.

It's all to do with what you are comfortable with, if you ant them to cover up the n just make it plain at the start of hire contact with them.

Nothing worse than getting to the meeting and then finding out you not both on the same page so to speak

It's your mouth so you make the rules

I would say that it's the kind of thing I'd mention before meeting as some guy may prefer not to meet if they have to wear a condom for a blow job, I just feel its only fair to mention things like that in advance then everybody knows where they stand and have the chance to accept or decline the meet accordingly

For me it depends in the meet

If I'm having a gang bang I prefer to use condoms for oral, if it's a one on on I never have, I get tested quite regular and never had a problem so far

Excuse me being pedantic, and I hope I've got this wrong, but it seems like there's a lot of people only thinking about themselves and their health and not considering the consequences of passing on an infection. Not only do I not want to contract am std, I don't want to pass something on unwittingly.

Unless you're tested after the appropriate length of time, every time you give or receive oral, you can't be sure you're clean.

Everyone has personal responsibility, I understand that, but for me that extends to considering others too. No man is an island, and all that.

Sucked many a cock and never had an issue...the taste of a prophylactic will make me gag faster than any deepthroating.

Until coming on the forums here, I had no idea bj's with a condom were a thing.

I get tested every two months and never had an issue. That doesn't mean I never will, just that I haven't so far in the however many times I've done it. At the end of the day, I wouldn't cover my vagina with clingfilm and expect to be licked through that

But it is each to their own. I have no issue with it, as long as someone mentions it, preferably before a meet so I can let them down gently.

Circumcised penises are less likely to contract a sti disease from others as well as pass it on so their cum is statistically safer. I accept that if they are diseased it will not make any difference if the cum is taken in the mouth.

This is an accepted and athorative medical fact - I suggest you read up on it so you can be better than "pretty sure" about the facts.

"There is some evidence that circumcision reduces the risk and spread of STIs. However, this study was carried out in Uganda, and its findings are not directly comparable to the UK. The main reason for this is the large difference in rates of STIs between the two countries. Further research in countries with a more comparable rate of STIs would give a better indication. When having sex, a condom remains the best way to avoid contracting an STI.

It is also important not to conclude that the results would be the same in other subgroups, such as men who have sex with men, or men who are circumcised as newborns. It could be that the benefits of circumcision differ among different groups."

Funnily enough I have actually read the research, that's why I consider it horseshit.

The reasons, well peaches has very kindly summed up one of the main bugbears I have with the study. The other being one has to question a study being funded by an industry which benefits from a practice into whether that practice is beneficial to the public. Do you have any idea the number of industries that benefit from this practice becoming more widespread?

Bernard Matthews is two thumbs up for turkey slaughtering ~_~

Also, just because an industry takes a narrow study and decides to accept it, and their position makes them sound authoritative, does not make the findings of that study a fact. I could give you countless examples of studies providing results their "professionals" didn't like and being buried. Modern "experts" are primarily just cherry pickers for the studies which suit their interests. For the answer you have to go to the findings, not the "accepted authoritative facts" as you put them, gleaned by the often skewed interpretation of those findings.

As peaches said, in one very particular place, one study found a somewhat decreased risk. Hardly justification for routine mutilation of children's bodies.

"The women rated the infected men's sweat as less than half as pleasant as the healthy men's sweat. And the women said about 50 percent of men who had gonorrhea had sweat that smelled "putrid," whereas only 32 percent of the healthy men were described as putrid. And while 26 percent of the healthy men smelled "floral," just 10 percent of those with gonorrhea were described that way."

So men with gonorrhoea might have armpits that smell less desirable than ones that don't. They might not. That's not even close to "You can smell if a person has an STI from their genitals" or whatever you said before. Chlamydia for example can have absolutely no symptoms.

The USA and UK disagree about the interpretation of the results. The 5th sentence (condom is best) reveals the most compelling reasoning behind the NHS decision not to back the US view. The greater prevalence of circumcision in the USA may be the reason for their taking a different view.

There is however accepted research and theory to back the concept that circumcision is a better than not. It just has not been carried out in the UK or similar country so "no evidence exists" is the order of the day for the NHS.

This being the original question posed by the op .

It's far from being the accepted thing to do by putting a condom on for a blow job .

And thank goodness for that , as I would rather stay at home and have a wank than have a condom on for a bj .

And my wife has sucked hundreds of bare cocks , with no problems and we get tested every 6 weeks .

But if you want to use condoms for oral , which is your choice , then at least let potential meets know in advance .
