I'm sure I've spoken to women/couples that are fake. One in particular I'm almost certain is a man.

Has anyone got any advice for spotting fakes, and/or ideas for how fab could improve catching them?

When a profile has not had a verification since 2013...isn't it safe to assume this may be fake. Maybe the couple split up and the male is using it to pretend to be a couple?

Just report the profile let admin do their thing

Send your mobile number after 3 emails. Then ask them to give you a call. That usually stops all communications from the fakes.

If it turns out to be a fruit loop you can always block them
