Yes they can view your pro before reading messages plus they can read your message then Mark it as unread. Xxx

If it is a short message then yes, they can read it in the preview panel and yes, they can view your profile without opening the message. They can also read it then mark it as unread so you don't know if they have or haven't read it if that makes sense?! I know what I mean

"so should I just block and move on?"

What I'd do is delete all your sent mail as soon as its sent then that way, you won't know what the recipient has done with it. You'll either get a reply or you won't, simple.

Why block?

Sometimes I'm busy, sometimes I want to wait until wolf is home and can help me compose a reply, and sometimes I'm just chatting here or elsewhere and will reply at a later time.

If they have deleted the message then you can be certain they won't reply... But blocking someone for not replying seems a bit harsh!

This is one approach and some find it helpful. The problem with it is that some may reply late and it may be days later and you may have forgotten what you may have said in it...can be hard if you need to correct/defend your comment etc. I use a diferent approach and works for me....but others don't like it. I tend to assume they're not interested after 3 days and just block. Saves them appearing in future searches and saves you messaging in a few weeks time and annoying them further

Not everyone replies straight away. I think my record was 2 weeks as life got in the way and then I went on holiday. Too many guys seem to get impatient seeing you've read their message and haven't responded. I've had guys message literally minutes after I've read their message saying I guess you're not interested. Some have lots of messages to deal with and get more as soon as they log on and some couples have to wait until their partner has seen the message.

All very helpful comments. I think I will hold off on the blocking and just delete all my sent mail this seems to be the easiest way

You are a site supporter too so can make a private note that you messaged on whatever date and also this info shows when you click on a profile so you know you've already messaged and not got a reply. You also get a warning that you've messaged before and not got a reply if you try to message again not realising you may have contacted them before.

We all use different forms of filters...what works for some doesn't work for others. For me I give 3 or 4 days for those very reasons. Most will have looked at/read or ignored message by then. If as previous poster mentioned they went on holiday for a week...I'd assume they had so many messages that they'd delete all on return as couldn't message or want to read all of them as most would be short ...wanna shag...wanna meet....hi...what you doing messages (as seems to be the case if forums are to be believed). If you go on holiday or are away from site for a while its usually wise to hide profile and then people know you're not available atm. So for me 3 or 4 days is reasonable and works well for me.

I did hide my profile as I want away. My point was I'd read this message then replied to it a couple of weeks later when I had more time and it ended in a meet. Had this person blocked for not replying then obviously no meet would have been arranged but as you say, everyone runs their profile as they see fit but if a read message causes so much angst then delete all sent mail as I suggested earlier.

90% are ignored though and as fab does say if they don't reply assume they're not interested....then one can rightly assume they're not interested.

You Dont Need to Know, right now

As others have said, delete your sent mail and don't obsess about the state of your outbox. As a site supporter, you can copy/paste the contents of your message into the Private Notes box, so you don't forget what you said (although, if they reply later, your original mail will appear beneath their reply).

Block if you like - if this is how you like to run your profile - but you could be shooting yourself in the foot, if they just haven't got round to replying.

With the volume of messages single females like myself get on here, it is impossible to reply to everyone who has messaged that we may be interested in meeting at some point, straight away. Sometimes I reply after over a week, if you are blocking after 3 days you could be missing out on females who are busy when receiving messages but free at a later date. XXX

.

Personally, I think blocking another member just because they have spurned my interest is childish and far fetched. Best to wish them a good day and move on.

I can imagine a minority of members hound and pester. These are the ones I would block.

Without prejudice
