Hi,

what do you do if you go for a social meet and then decide that you don't want to play?

How do you get out of there amicably?

Can someone offer advice or possible exit strategies?

Sincerely yours,

Hunnybunny & Dozer

Make it clear before you meet that a social is just that, a social, a quick chance to say how'd you do and give each other the once over in the flesh. I've stopped the coffee side now and just meet them in a car park, I stay in my car them in theirs, I can see through their window if I fancy them or not. If not I'll just say thanks for meeting but I'm not feeling this ta-ra.

We treat people the way we would like to be treated. If we don't feel the attraction we say thank you, very nice to meet you, glad we talked but we don't want to take things further. M x

I have a social meet first. No need to tell them face to face if you don't want to meet up. I usually send a text later politely saying no and there was no connection.

I'd rather meet in a cafe or a pub where there are people about.

Social meet first. If not going well I pretend to see a rare endangered bird of prey fly past the window. Whilst they look, I leg it. I have long legs so I'm quite nifty

Or just arrive and say you can't stay long as something has cropped up in work (or something) so have a coffee and go.

If they are a nutbag then just get up and leave.

Apart from with one disaster that was like something from Little Britain, recently I've just simply politely said 'sorry you're not for me' but in years gone by I've said all kinds - my favourite used to be 'sorry but I have to go, I've just remembered my house is on fire'!!

I always specify that I just want a first social without it leading to play. That way, it gives us both the opportunity to converse after and say how it's gone. Suppose it's a bit easier to message after than saying to someone's face that they aren't interested. I'd also hate the thought of someone continuing the social with me into play if they weren't 100% because they were reluctant to say anything.

At the planning stage make it clear that this social is only going to be a social, that play isn't to be expected. That way you don't have to find an excuse not to shag them.

Set the meet up as time restricted, where you have another place to be. Both can go to the meet with expectation of it just being a face/personality to name courtesy thing. Leave the play meet as a "for later" right from the start.

That's pretty brutal,if we don't fancy each other it's still good to have a little chat over a coffee especially as I tend to speak for a while online first. I suppose if your time is precious then fair enough.

We don't do social's anymore, for that reason. Got ourselves, in to a situation. Where a simple no thankyou. Wouldn't suffice. Very uncomfortable. An experience,we wouldn't want to repeat.

The only way youre going to get anything out of this is to be honest honesty is a massive part of it, leave lame excuses for the "others!" Anyway its empowering, you dont have to be abrupt especially at a social, you just say 'im only here to socialise tonight'

I think with some socials it becomes blatantly obvious that it's game on for more than a quick social but I would aim to leave on the note that we would be in contact via the site after the social.

Makes it far easier to say 'Lovely to meet you but don't think it will go any further, sorry'

In my view people should not be swinging if they cannot answer this question. The answer is a polite but decided ' Well thanks for your time. It has been nice to meet. I/we would not want to take this any further than here. Thanks.'

optional extra (but only if sincere) are

- maybe another time

- do keep in touch

or

- we'll send you a veri

You can have dishonest insincere relationships in vanilla world but when you swing, you swing.
