Fake Names

Jump to newest

By (user no longer on site) OP

I've had a couple of social meets with guys recently that have lied about their names and said that they like to keep their swinging life and non swinging life separate. Now we can totally understand this as we don't want to mix the two either, however we're upfront and honest about who we are and our ages etc etc.

I often do social meets on my own, and I'm now wary about what else guys could be fibbing about.

We realise that some guys could be married etc, and we understand discretion is a must, and should be respected however would you just turn a blind eye to fake names/alter egos or would you just rather people be honest?

Also do you use a fake name etc?

(Just to be clear I mean fake names in R/L...online is obviously 100% acceptable!)

No, always use real name. I think it's probably quite obvious from my profile name as to what it is.

If I message I always sign off with my (real) name. It would get to confusing not to.

I only tell people my real name if I feel like it. Doesn't mean I'm lying about anything else. If I don't want people to know things I just don't tell them, I don't lie about it. Names are a bit different though cuz you have to call people something.

Having said that, I fully expect people to lie about some things and I can't do anything about that.

I'm not that bothered by an alias but it does embarrass the person using it when they slip up. I would never use my correct name in the forum etc but if we're messaging with a view to meeting we give them.

If I meet someone in real life I tend to tell them my real name. I don't mind being called by my fab name (although no-one's ever used my actual username since it's a bit of a mouthful).

I always use my real name, including signing messages here. I like to keep this aspect of my life separate from the rest of it, but it's too much hassle trying to remember a fake name. I've never done that in any other aspect of my life and it would feel weird to start now.

i don't use any name at all. NSA means no need to know it. plus nobody uses my name irl anyway unless it's for filling in forms.

although a few guys on here know my real name for some reason and that freaks me out because i'm sure i haven't told them it. i have got my real name on another, not well known, site. maybe they got it from there?

I'd forgotten about that. I mean when you meet them and they refer to themselves by their correct name, which is frequently far less exotic than their alias. Tarquin becomes Fred for instance.

This is exactly what's happened! And the fact that one gave me 2 fake names...one of which he couldn't spell! (And then I found out his real name which was far less exotic )

nothing really. nobody in my life calls me anything - except my kids call me mum and they're the only people who have given me any sort of name at all.

We're both terrible at remembering names any way so we generally don't call people by their name. When meeting people, we'll generally just go 'oh hey! How are you?'. We're happy for people to do the same to us.

We do go by fake names, both online and in person. Swinging isn't part of our 'real life' so why should we have that string between the two? Our swinging names are part of our persona that isn't part of our 9-5 regular life.

I suppose I'm just used to calling someone by their name (whether it's real or not, I wouldnt know). Apart from the odd situation in a club/spa type environmentenvironment, I don't think I've ever met someone without having a name to call them.

The very first chap I ever arranged to meet off here used a made up name. We'd messaged back and forth for a week or so and I eventually decided I was brand enough. The first thing he said after a hello kiss on the cheek was "my name's not actually X its Y". This was a massive relief as I'd been trying to figure out how to ask "what's your name again, I've forgotten?"

You Dont Need to Know, right now

I would never use a fake 'real' name IRL, and I would hope that no-one I met would, either, as that would just be dishonest. That said, I only meet people after chatting for a long time first, and I am happy for them to continue to call me 'Flirty' when we meet in person. I'll call them by their Fab name, depending what it is (another reason why I will never meet anyone called 8InchCock or PussySmasher )

I have a name that I use for this part of my life, have used it for many years and even before I knew that I was a swinger, a bit like a nickname I suppose. Will happily respond to that when called and feel it is very much part of my identity. Most people we have met have been happy to call me that too, especially as we may have been corresponding as that for some time.

its pretty common on the fetish scene to have scene names. No big deal. Even my best friend, I will use her scene name at events rather than her real name. Like others have said, it's very much part of my identity. I have a variation of my real name that I also use. I don't see it as fake or deceitful. It's just me in different modes. I respond to all of those names when called.

This is really interesting and I am sure when we meet people we would give our real (first) names but it's made me think it would be more fun and a tiny bit silly to be referred to in real life meets as Mr Duck And Mrs Duck, it's like a nickname you get given at school but now get to choose your own and I/we do prefer to be a tiny bit on the silly side

I therefore am not too judgmental of people using fake names. There are so many odd balls on here.

In relation to the OP can you imagine one've those cheeky fooking single guys complaining about a cpl keeping aspects of themselves, maybe true names private from him. Their choice, how dare they

We use a version of our real names. I'd never remember a pseudonym anyway.

Though Cal doesn't ever give his full real name as it is unique; he really is the only one... In the UK anyway.

Other people can use whatever name they like. As long as we know what to call them that's fine.
