I want to give out my phone number but as soon as I store a number to the damn thing it links the number with the profile on Facebook.

There's gotta be a way of stopping that happening, I just don't know what it is...

try splitting it....mail 1st 5 digits.... then the other 6 after ? maybe

I think there is a function to not sync contacts. Though the other possibility is to remove the facebook app

Exactly;

Plus go into your settings; you should be able to choose which apps are allowed to synch with contacts.

( best initial solution is " none" - then add back what you want)

oh, and facebook has never, ever had my phone number on it and it still links profiles via whatsapp.

I can assure you that anyone that adds your number to their address book they can get your Facebook details

I know this as I use mine for work and I can see my customers private Facebook accounts even though my address book does not liknk to my Facebook

I don't know how to get round it

My phone number isn't on FB but it still pulls contacts suggestions through, nor is it set to sync, its the problem with Android phones I feel.
