Why do separated men on fab become lepers?

I've been on fab for years and am now unfortunately separated. Why does that change anything? I've always enjoyed the friendship and socialising - sex was a bonus. Now however I'm ostracised because I'm no longer a couple. Why?

Because a lot of couples are looking for couples and not single men, and the couples and women who are looking for single men, have a lot to choose from.

Are you sure you've made the effort to 'market' yourself as effectively as possible?

You're not a leper, but fewer people are looking to meet men in your situation, so competition is higher than it was when you were part of a couple.

You've probably been around long enough to notice that with all the single guys here outnumbering everyone else it's hard to be noticed, sadly.

A good move though to keep your old profile with the verifications! Ones without seem to get ignored a bit (bit of a catch 22...)

Stick some pictures up maybe?

I would remove the bit about how you are now 'sadly' just a single guy. That screams 'emotional baggage' to me.

Add in a bit at the end explaining that this used to be a couples profile hence the verifications, but now you have gone your separate ways.

because you're ugly or because you're a blank avatar or because you're johnny no mates I don't know give us a clue here or is this all based on you messaging and not getting any replies like the rest of us ?

Evidently you were a mere inconvenience mate as are 99% of the male half of couple profiles. If the wife doesn't want to have sex with other people then you're gonna struggle.

Lots of couples are looking to play with other couples. That makes sense. There is a different dynamic. If couples are looking for a single guy, there is some tough competition out there.

This inevitably happens. A couple splits up and the guy continues as a single guy? Things get harder. A single woman finds a fuck buddy or partner and starts a couple's profile? She complains that she isn't getting the same amount of interest. Why oh why?!

I really thought this stuff would be obvious. I'm not trying to be mean, but try to see the realistic side to things. When you met as a couple, would you rather meet a single guy or a couple? A couple or a single woman? It's not always the case, but numbers don't lie.

If you're good at sex, have a fascinating personality, can write witty and engaging messages, have an awesome profile and are generally tiptop cool in all ways, then as a single guy, you'll do well.

The room for losers has a large door and is very big. Don't go in there.

Well it's all because you're now a single guy, though you've yet to clear that up in your profile
