"Sun light therapy worked wonders for mine. Go to your gp and ask to see a dermatologist who could get you a course of light therapy. " I tried that, went to hospital 3 times a week for about 3 months, eventually got rid of it, it started to come back less than a week after the treatment stopped, within a month it was just as bad as it was whenI started. Psoriasis is cruel in the way a treatment can be a silver bullet for one person, and not work on another.

"This is going to sound wacko BUT goats milk with solve it. I know that sounds crazy but have seen it work many times " 'will solve it' is a rather wild claim....i know it can help with eczema which is dairy sensitive, but claiming it will cure something that 1 in 10 people suffer from is a bit ridiculous. help, maybe, but 'solve' sorry,no.

"Another thing that works for some us porridge oats! Sounds mad I know but don't cook them, fill a thin sock, better still foot of tights and then use like a bath bomb. Needs to make water cloudy and repeat daily to get the benefit. " I work with an ex nurse and she advised me to do this - not tried it yet though.

"Mr has pretty it pretty bad, creams only keep it at bay as there really isn't any cure for it, he is pretty self conscious of it but as far as we know it hasn't effected our meets. If it is something you worry about your best bet is to be open about it, once people know what it is I think they are more sympathetic than anything else." This! I think once you let people know then there won't be any surprises or speculations.

"My other half suffers from psoriasis........ if you know of anyone going on holiday to Mexico ask them to bring back.some gelmicin it is amazing on all skin issues.....cost a couple of quid for a decent size tube over the counter at pharmacy Not available in this country (well I'm not aware of it)" its just the 2 main steroid ingredients in most psoriarsis creams, just in a stronger dose..so yes, it will work, but long term its not a good idea...theres a reason steroids are prescription only here..

"I've got psoriasis quite bad in some places and v nervous with meets would it put people off me?" Hi . Message me privately and I will give you details of the hospital / spa abroad that helped my brother regarding the worst kind of psoriasis . He had all over his whole body and head . There wasn't a spot clear and it was very very severe . He had been clear for 20 years now and not used any treatment since .

But I tend to stick to. Mango or coconut oil based moisturisers which really work. Hope this helps...take the stress out of your life do some yoga... It's mental and it works?. Good luck. "My daughter suffers from psoriasis - it first appeared around 11 years old & the doctor linked it with strep throats as the trigger. Over the years she has tried many things medical/self help/ all the above in various forms. It flares when she is stressed or under the weather. The things that appear to work best for her. * Sunshine (light therapy & sun beds have their drawbacks) * excercise & keeping her body & immune system as strong as possible * avoiding dairy & other fat filled foods It abates but never completely goes away - So appears no magic bullet or total cure. It's a seemingly variable set of treatment what works for one does not work for all. In the end it's a condition, those that see a person - don't see the condition. Xx B " psoriasis is actually an immune disorder so keeping your immune system strong can be counter productive treatments such as cyclosporine and the like switch off the immune system stelara is the first that only targets the immune systems that targets the skin

"Amazing thread! Me (mr) have been suffering for three years now, back shoulders, elbows, thighs and knees. Finally got a referral to specialist with a four month wait. For me sunbeds do not clear it but having a tan does cover the harsh look of it. I have found Palmers coco butter gradual tan works good. But generally if I know we are going on a meet I make sure I apply loads of steroid cream for two weeks leading up and it does clear up and with a bit of a tan, I feel great. In the US hemp oil is prescribed with great results and also medical cannabis to relieve stress. Great thread!!! " Said earlier in the thread fella try these products.. I got them. In th u.s but are available on Amazon very cheaply Psoriasin.. Or Mg217 psoriasis 2%coal tar ointment. Added to Mg217 3%sal acid formula moisturising cream.. For extra moisturiser. Holland n barret dead sea mineral skin lotion. I had in on 40%of my body.. Today if it's on 1% of my body it's rare. I'm overjoyed and have the confidence to play here now

"My partner has suffered with it most of her life but is now the worst it's ever been, she has 4 different steroid creams aswell as a bath solution, shampoo and natural ointments. Just as it clears up something as little as the steam from a pan of boiling water triggers it and we are back to square one. She has been put on methotrexate for her arthritis which has helped a lot and also has a hot wax also for her arthritis but is also great for her skin. We are slowly getting on top of it, I say we because it has been a huge joint effort to get this far by rubbing creams in daily, doing all the cooking, washing, help her bath, keep her calm and feeling positive when she is having her low days. I really do feel for those suffering, especially the extreme cases Google decides to scare us with " your post really is inspiring1 it can be so debilitating you feel no-one will ever go near you!...you sound a wonderfully supportive partner!. ive used a variety of things since i was a teen...only thing that really works is the steroids...but in the last couple of years, for some reason, menopause seems to be just switching it off..my gp said she's seen that before...as the rest of me collapses,my skin is finally clearing!..my best wishes to your partner..and,really,to you, heartfelt admiration..its not an easy thing to deal with..
