Is an open pic on your profile the only only way to get people to engage?

It's a sad shallow world if that's the case!!!

You Dont Need to Know, right now

You have to remember that the majority of Fabsters are single men. And therefore, the women/couples who are LOOKING for single men can really have their pick. If you want to be the one they pick, you have to use every tool available to you - and that includes having photos on your profile. It doesn't have to be a face-pic, many profiles have attractive pictures of chest, bum, etc.

You may think it is 'shallow' for women/couples to evaluate people on how they look. But if there are 20 new messages in their inbox, the 1 message which has no pictures is an easily deleted one.

double bang on...If they can't be bothered to put a pic on there profile ...then we assume they can't be bothered to put the effort in to meet either...block them everytime

To a certain degree there are a lot who are very shallow & first looks are all they go by & delete immediately a message from a silhouetted profile. I personally feel that if someone has taken the time to write a message to me - no matter how small or long the message is- then the least I can do is have the courtesy to reply. I will always ask for a face pic as I do need to feel an attraction of some sort to be able to take it further but I am always honest & up front with anyone. If I have no attraction at all I tell them but that doesn't mean I don't want to chat if they like having someone to talk to. I enjoy the chatting side of Fab as much if not more than meeting people. Once we meet & get on the men no longer need to talk until they fancy a meet up again.

Won't entertain a profile that has no pictures there at all unless the blurb was good enough to catch my interest. Never been the case this far though.

Ok a pic especially a face pic would help but sometimes you cant put a face pic up due to work, family etc, I would say that if you state clearly your willing to send one and you do if asked then a profile pic is not the be all and end all.

I personally haven't loaded viewable pictures for personal reasons regarding job and family etc. But am more than willing (and do) to send privately once I have viewed a picture of the other person.

If that person declines then I just move onto the next message. Ok it may limit my messages or meets but so be it x

PS Yes, I'm shallow. I like hot, fit, toned blokes. I continually seek to punch well above my weight. And I skip right on past silhouettes. They're either trying to hide something or they can't be bothered.

Fab is a visual medium therefore it makes sense to have some visuals. For those who can't see too well (and I know of at least two blind fabbers), you also need good words.

As a single girl when I look for a guy I'll be honest there has to be an attraction.

As a single girl with my fb. When looking to swing it's more about the ability to have fun

Although for me pictures are a plus in both situations

If we are'scanning' for playmates, we wouldn't bother looking at a profile with a silhouette. There are loads of attractive single guys, with some sort of public pic and it doesn't have to be a facial pic, why bother messaging for a photo from someone who won't put up a public pic.

However thank goodness some people are "shallow" (not my choice of word but it has been used here) cus we really couldn't cope with any more meet requests than we already get ... photoless profile works well here

I am totally and utterly as shallow as they come !!! I would be concerned if somebody didn't ask me for a face pic ..because to me desperation springs to mind and they will fuck anything regardless of how they look !!

The BF has a pictureless, single paragraph profile. Guess what, I still met him since he engaged me with a doozy of an initial message exchange. As a result I wouldn't say having pics is a prerequisite necessarily but that situation may just have been the single exception to the decent profile/decent pic advice normally given on here.

There is a search option to only show profiles with public pics, we ONLY search that way. We are not interested in the slightest in contacting people who dont have any pics. They are obviously in a very different place on the swinging spectrum to us, so we are probably not a good match anyway.

Don't have to be visible on profile but I do have to see pics or cam before a meet! It's not a blind dating site it's a swinging site so a physical attraction is important!! I'm not sad or shallow, it's my personal preference X

We don't look at profiles without pictures, to be honest how do you know if they are remotely your type without? For us it's the initial, yes we would like to speak to these people, obviously looks are not everything, we then read the profile and make sure they sound like our type of people and they want the same as us, but you do need some idea of if there is an initial attraction or not x

Saying that, like it's been said earlier, you still can't 100% trust people of their profile alone, as we have recently found out, we are new to this so still learning but we are 100% genuine and honest so it can get frustrating sometimes
