Being led/ strung along

Is it just me that suffers from this or have I got a danger sign on my profile that I cannot see but every one else can

Been talking to a woman on here for 2 weeks talking on kik as well,exchanged messages regularly on both for 2 weeks meeting arranged for Sunday and Sunday night,

Post code given out, now as it actually comes close to the event suddenly radio silence messages read but not replied both on here and kik

All the silence began from when I asked for phone number and house number so I could put details into sat nav

She has been on both kik and here today messages ignored

I know it happens but why oh why string people along and yes I'm sure females get it far worse

Because they can for some its the chase not the meet that matters move on to the next one

Not just you, that seems to be the norm around here. Chatted with plenty of women and then nothing, as you said you see them active on here or kik or whatsap and nothing, no response. Is it just me or would it be just manners to say sorry no thank you or changed their mind. Just to blank some one is rude imo. Latest one said swinging is not for her, yet still regularly active on here...oh well, their loss...

But why do you need home and mobile number for your sat nav? She may be put off meeting with you asking for them. Always happy to give my address on the day of the meet but I'd never give out both numbers in advance

Hi. I wanted a social meet first, which was a maybe, and she organised where the meet was going to take place and what day, then blanked. Enjoyed the time off work though, not a total loss. Jim

You need to feel secure as well as her and if someone wants you to drive 50 miles without even knowing where to go or speak on the phone then I'd think something was a bit fishy

maybe ask for her post code only, it's less threatening (if she was genuine and felt nervous about giving her address that is). say you want to know so you can check your GPS to see how long it will take to get to hers and can plan around that.

you really don't need her address until you're actually setting off, and that is when i give mine out.

i never give out my number on here, don't need to and it causes problems for me to give it out so i refuse to, it's on my profile that i don't even have a phone so people know i will not be giving out a number.

i don't have many hoops myself but the ones i have will show which guys i don't want to risk meeting with.

You'll never know the actual reason why she stopped talking, unless she is honest and tells you.

just there's some ideas of why women might be hesitant to give out their details and what might help to get round them.

i've actually had a couple of stalkers off here, and loads of text pests. also been in scary situations so made some hoops so i can get a feel for who is pushy and who respects what i want and say.

I've met guys pretending to b ladies a couple even like urself ready to meet must disapeared n women just changed their mind at d last minute . So I've been there done that etc . U just have to have patience n sometimes u could get a meet n then it could take ages another time it always depends ok

We have it something similar happen a few times, since we have been on here my wife has chatted/texted/sexted a few guys, for a while then when she asks are they up for a social meet it goes a couple of ways, yes they are keen but won't/can't commit to a date/time or yes they are keen,but go off the radar for a bit before getting back in touch and talk about anything but meeting basically ignoring that bit of the text.

they do spoil it,as we are quite new to the scene,it's frustrating to go through with the getting to know them then,realise they didn't want to meet all along.

I was supposed to have a meet this afternoon. Been chatting to the guy for a while. All arranged. He was v eager to meet. I sent him a message asking if he was still up for meeting me. Got no reply. So off I toddled home to my pooch!!

I don't get it. Why do people do it? My time is v precious. I don't get alot of me time. I don't need timewasters. Beginning to lose heart, it's not the first time it's happened.

We had a similar thing happen last night ... There are just some people who get off on letting others down . Fortunately we had a back up plan which was awesome so no loss . But then we are used to the silly games people play on here .

I've had this happen to me about five times now. So frustrating and annoying but I get that you can't force anyone to meet. I count myself lucky that as a single guy I have been fortunate to actually gets some meets. More possible meets to be arranged soon but I don't hold my breath that they will happen.

I think a phone conversation is a good idea as there seems to be quite a few people on here who are not who they say they are. And always have a social meet, it's just words on a screen until you've got a real person in front of you.

When something went tits up in my home life recently the last thing on my mind was sending messages to people I've never met to explain. I forgot all about fab.

It didn't happen, I'm sorry op but like you said, you didn't drive anywhere and enjoyed a day off

I always thinks its better to be realistic. Travelling more than half hour, taking time off work or making special arrangements, meeting at either ones home or in a hotel room for a first meet, aranging to meet by messages alone are all no goes for me personally.

Apart from the sheer number of timewasters and wind up merchants on any site like this there is also a fairly important personal safety issue to consider.

Look after number one and if it looks and sounds too good to be true it usually is!

I give my number after a regular exchange of messages and I also use Skype as proof I'm genuine and to see they are who they say they are. I use kik regularly now and Skype most nights with a male from here.

So many people really do get off on the thrill of the chase and it can be difficult to spot someone doing this before it's too late. The best way to look at is that if they are too chicken to turn up, they probably would've been a crap shag.

We had a meet arranged last wk with a cpl. Chatted for ages with them & they were happy to accommodate. Suddenly all went quiet. Jack mailed them asking if all was ok cuz we wld hve to make alternative arrangements. Still nothing yet we cld see they had been online loads. Morning of meet they eventually replied apologising she had been unwell & himself bogged with work now us to rearrange. Total crap as far as we were concerned. Why do ppl waste others time. We're big enough and ugly enough to accept a msg sayn 'sorry changed our minds'. Site is full of timewasters so forget her mate. She cld quite possibly be a man posing as a woman. X

I guess the only plus side is that you didn't waste however long a drive it would have been to meet them and to find out then they weren't turning up.

It could be anything but likelihood is cold feet or 'she' was a man.
