I've seen this on here before but how can you look at someone's friends list?

I think it's only if they show it. And even then you can only see 20 random ones.

I think it only works on the desktop version x

In your privacy settings you can choose if you want to show your friends list or not - so some peoples you will not be able to see at all whether on mobile or desktop if they have chosen the 'don't show' option
