When you get an email from a fellow fab member or couple what do you look for? Do you prefer polite introductions or do you prefer getting to the nitty gritty of things straight away.

I know one liners and cock shots are hated lol.

Something with a bit of substance.

Things that make me hit the delete button are

Text speak

One liners

Not reading the profile and

lack of originality.i.e - copy and pasting your profile.

If you are really interested in conversing with the person with a view to getting to know them or meeting them, then you should make an effort. First impressions and all that.

The thing is I often read profiles and then send a message relating to that and people don't reply. It takes a long time to read a profile when theres so many. Its so easy to just make up a copy and paste message and send it to the masses till you get some replies. If I want a quick meet Ill do that. But most of the time I do read profiles.

my favourite message ive ever had made me smile ..

it went

shame your not meeting at the moment ....ive polished my shoes and everything !

i went to his profile liked what i saw and met him and we have become really good friends .. maybe it was the mention of SHOES !!!! but its testament to the fact that amongst all the dross messages have to stand out

There is no one size-fits-all emailing strategy.

I've had a both a very positive (great message!) and extremely negative (you arrogant twat!) response to a very similar message sent to 2 different people.

but here's my number 1 and slightly obscure tip:

Dangle the string!

You ever noticed how if you dangle a piece of string in front of a cat just out of their reach they will play with it - but if you give it to them they will ignore it? ..... women are exactly the same.

Personally the fact that they have read my profile is far more important than a message but i prefer an introductory message, not copied and pasted from their profile either, no i dont want the nitty gritty of how good they think they are in bed, so off putting and smacks of arrogance and desperation, or married and cheating

We will reply...'no'

If the email hints at a meet and the reasons why they would like one then we will reply in depth..the answer will be the same, but a decent question warrants a decent reply..

I think saying no is pretty damn to the point and not vague at all. If you said something like "probably not" or "maybe, but not likely" that'd be waaaay more vague! :P

Well, it's good if the message shows they've actually read our profile! I (Mrs R) get fed up with messages that ask if we full swap - the answer's in the profile! After that I'd like to see something that shows some personality and a sense of humour. I get irritated by text speak (I'm not a teenager so it takes me longer to figure out what's being said than it would take the sender to use English!).
