After a very recent bout of depression, I'm dumbfounded by the unparalleled support some forum members showed me.

Just Thankyou X

I'm fair to middling.... But the kindness of a couple of members has astounded me. From messages at night and first thing in he morning, just making me realise little old me is on someone's mind... It's been a lifesaver

I hope you have been able to get professional help.

I'm on the list.... Although I have tablets (yet to kick in so to speak) and sleeping tablets.

Ok. I know the system, you should get a call from the service to assess your needs.

If it's what I suspect they have prescribed (don't say here I respect your privacy) then you will feel a benefit fairly soon.

Meanwhile, walking is good. A local park do a few laps. Feed the ducks. Be kind to yourself.

I'm expecting a call tomorrow. I actually went for a swim today. Was great, was too busy stopping my self physically drowning, to worry about mentally drowning

I'm

A long long way from feeling better. But I'm on the bottom step looking up, rather on the top of a cliff looking down

It does get better. Don't look at it as a climb, think of it as being lifted up. A lot of people who use the forums have been through depression, some of us are stuck with it. It's manageable and you can have a good life.

I just read your post and wanted to say I know how debilitating depression can be, I don't suffer from but as a therapist who works first hand with mental health I see it from the other side.

I'm glad your getting the help and support you need as its really important to have a good support network round you. Take one day at a time and I always say to my clients, it's about baby steps....keep them small and manageable.

I wish you well in your recovery, take care of you xxx

I would have sent this in a PM.

Sorry I missed any of your previous posts on the subject.

There is a great support network on Fab for those who suffer with depression, an incredibly supportive and wonderful bunch.

From my own experience I remember it felt like I was the only person in the world suffering. Amazed and how many people said "hey, me too. Anything you need let me know".

Fabbers are awesome.

I'm glad your situation is improving.
