If you are part of a couple, do you always write messages from your situated perspective or as if you were writing on behalf of both members of the couple? I've noticed both approaches (and a mish-mash of the two).

I got carried away writing 'hellos' to people who had winked us or browsed our profile a lot, but without consulting my wife until the evening. I kind of wrote the messages as if I was 'the couple' and, in hindsight, I think I should have clearly written them as one half of the couple as my wife isn't particularly impressed with some of the people I've contacted. I've had to go back to them, eating humble pie and having to explain myself and why, after making an approach, I'm effectively now having to tell them to piss off

I always explain to people that it's me (mr) at the keyboard and any potential for meeting can't be agreed until the good lady wife as seen the profile too. Saves any potential for embarrassing u-turns later on.

Yep, that's the situation I'm in at the moment. Had to do a u-turn last night and faced with another this morning. It really is an invidious position I've placed myself in.

Still, we learn by our mistakes. I'll be more careful next time.

I always let people know it's me that's messaging. Sometimes my oh forgets to put it's him and I tell him off.

I want to know which person I'm talking to if its a couple. Although, a 'couple' messaged last week and for some reason I just got the impression that it was the guy pretending to be the girl. Its happened before. Sometimes u can tell who's messaging without being told who it is.

Also, I always speak for myself and not my partner. He has his own voice. I wish more people did that. It's just better communication.

I always make it clear that it is me Mr l that is typing, but I think most people can tell the difference between a man and a woman typing

I can usually tell if it's the M or F of a couple messaging but Kate says she can't really tell.

I send most of the messages on here (M) but wouldn't arrange a meet until Kate has seen pics and messages. I always explain that to people otherwise they may be in the position of sending face pics and not getting anything back for a few days which I don't really think is fair.

I always sign my messages off so people know it's me. He always says to people if they get a message that looks like it was written by a 5yr old, it's him lol.

Sometimes he'll send messages to people I wouldn't look twice at, but I just let him know he'll be meeting them alone. It's not happened yet though
