Surely its a psychological issue.

He needs to "practice" in a safe familiar environment I.E. with you until he becomes conditioned to the ritual ad feelof wearing one

Wearing a condom will become second nature and he wont need any help.

The above couple are right get used to them at home first and you will have no problem.
