Clubs when you're alone

I'd really like to go to a club night but I'm too nervous to go alone and haven't built up a friendship with anyone I've met on fab. For those single ladies who visit clubs alone, did you go on your own the first time and how was it? Can you share your experiences with me?

Ideally I'd love to go with another female as moral support but I don't know any women on the scene

Although we are not a single female obviously! There is always a few in clubs. The staff treat them well and the regulars too. You'd be absolutely fine, grab a drink and let the conversation go.

Before having my children (as I don't get much free time anymore now) I used to go to LC's in Sheffield alone all the time always found it welcoming and of course that first time I was a bag of nerves but once I got in got a drink and immersed in the atmosphere I was fine as I'm generally out going and get on with most people so found it not much different to going out on a Saturday night on the town

Isis in Leeds is an excellent club for single women. I always go alone and I'm never the only one there.

I've only ever clubbed alone.

I found it wonderfully liberating and people are friendly, welcoming and respectful.

As has already been said, clubbing alone is extremely liberating and has improved my confidence immensely. I have mild anxiety and did my first visit with a 'friend' (not a playmate) and soon started talking to people, and have been attending on my own ever since... I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!

I love going to clubs alone. Been going to clubs for about 10 years... The first few years I would always hook up with a guy to go but got to feeling "obliged" to play with him.

Then about 3 years ago i decided i would take the plunge alone. I was just honest with club staff, "um I'm my own and a bit nervous" and they'd chat and introduce me to people.

Now I please myself who with and when I play. It's done wonders for my confidence and I haven't looked back.

Trust me 3 months ago I was a total scaredy cat... Ive just been offered a host spot at the club I attend!! Not too bad for a single female newbie lol

We are a couple from Wakefield, we often go to isis Quests, Leeds in the afternoon and would love to accompany you to Isis one evening if you wish to introduce you to the club (you would be under no obligation to play with us).

We are at present in Scotland for a further week and you may have had other invatations or gone yourself before we return.

do it sweet.. the unknown is only that length of time it takes you to get there..30 seconds in and you've already past that unknown and can start enjoying yourself.. i've now been to several different clubs on my own..each new place, gives me butterflies the first time..but the anticipation of going back to somewhere great when you've been before, whilst still not knowing what awaits you that night..is very exciting...i am looked after really well by those owning and/ or hosting..you'll soon be having a ball.

wish i was in the north east, id walk you over the threshold..let us know how it went for you x

You Dont Need to Know, right now

OP, like you I was very nervous about going to a club on my own. But when I got there (La Chambre in Sheffield) the staff couldn't have been more helpful. They showed me round, explained how the rules protect me, and checked in with me every half-hour or so. I didn't play on my first visit, but then I was kicking myself for an opportunity missed, so I went back the very next day to make the most of it. I highly recommend La Chambre as a single-girl-friendly club.

I agree with everyone above. I often attend alone as a solo female. Tell staff ahead of time that you'll be arriving alone and they will go out of their way usually to make you feel comfortable and will check in with you through the night or introduce you to regulars.

Having attended alone I've now made friends with quite a few females who also attend alone. Now it's like girls night out sometimes to the clubs.

Go for it. Enjoy yourself.

As a couple we wouldn't mind a single lady or another couple coming with us (no expectations for play by the way, just as company and for someone to chat to).

Then again we usually only go on couples nights and while single women are welcome on couples nights, I would imagine single women would prefer single guys to be there.

(Although as I'm not a single woman I'm only guessing)

I go to Isis (in Leeds) alone most weekends and have seen many other single women come and wonder what took them so long.

As with any decent club anyone walking through their doors will be treated with friendliness and respect. We all remember what it's like to be new.

Take that first step and show the nerves who is boss.
