How close is to close for a meet? Were newbies and very private.also what about someone you both know already,a mutual friend (male) not a close friend but a friend none the less...advice please.thanks A x

Not comfortable with someone who's already a friend but end up friends with people I meet swinging just to be a hypocrir lol. I live in a very small goldfish bowl of a town and rarely meet locals.

Everyone has their own comfort zones. you have to work out what you are comfortable with. Personally I won't meet anyone who is local ie within about 20 miles!

I usually don't meet anyone from the same town but made an exception recently. He lives very close by and it's working out ok so far

My closest is about 2 mins away......walking that is as she is just down the road. We were about 1 1/2 miles apart when we first met...but both moved since then. We are now really good friends in the ordinary world....with a number of mutual friends. I know her daughter she knows my sister though neither know how we met.

I have a few others I have met within a couple of miles....we sometimes see each other in "real" life but so what.

I hide my location, and don't tend to meet within 15/20 miles of my village after a really scary experience where someone worked out who I was from on here... and then sent me texts saying he'd seen me in the village with my son, and listed other places he had seen me with my son as well - and also when he dangerously overtook my car on the main road not far from here. Lesson learned, location hidden, and don't tell anyone until I am comfortable with them - and had a successful social

Remember that "kiss and tell" works both ways. The people you meet will be just as discreet as you are, for the same reasons.

I won't meet anyone who has any connection to my "real" life. I will meet people from nearby though, I live in a city so a few hundred thousand people live within that 20 mile radius! If I lived in a small village or something it would be different.

I think as long as you make it clear it's just fun , it doesn't really matter . Friend , nearby , whatever ... too much thinking often leads to no fun at all
