it's not easy finding one long term partner, finding more than one is where all parties get on is extremely difficult, did it once with 3 of us for just short of a year but never found that balance since.

I think poly life is a difficult one.. We love to play with, share and indulge with other hot females and most become really really close, but even though it sounds like the dream ideal for any man to have two hotties by his side I can honestly say I could never love another woman like I love my wife!! I think the adventures we have together are amazing, but mostly because they are "our" adventures ..

We're open to expanding our family and community emotionally, spiritually, and sexually... but its not really a "lifestyle" in our eyes... just something that may or may not happen if we're open to it. For us, perhaps the nicest way of envisaging it happening is that we'd swing a bit, make some "close" friends... then start holidaying together, before investigating living near each other and setting up something of a mini-community. We kinda live this way anyway... have pretty much an open door policy... enjoy organising parties... and have forged some strong friendships and some fleeting but fun friendships along the way. We just haven't opened it up sexually before. Looking back we've had a few "doh" moments when we've realised that different people were trying to suggest having sex with us but we just didn't pick it up on the radar... we were soo naive

Anyway peace and love to all you hippy free lovers. Great to find you here... a while back it seemed like we were the only ones on here with this mindset so its nice not to feel that were the freaks

I've said this before, but...

I don't read books... Or articles anymore, I spend my life reading technical crap and I hate books now....

So I rely on smart, knowledgeable, people like yourself, to explain concepts to me.

I might of overstated the above a little though, one girl has gone to Oz for a year and I might not see people from one week/month to the next.

We more enjoy each other's company and trust each other and now and then just enjoy each other...

Not really just fuck each other when we please... It's much more just friends.

Hi poly couple for 15 yrs longest relationship was 6.its hard work but the benefits are great(not sexual but intimate).we all loved and took care of each other.we had 3 kids she had 1.we miss her dearly.finding a 3rd can be hard.we learned when you stop looking,it all falls in place.

I tried unsuccessfully to grow cauliflower. The bugs would annihilate them every time. Once I got the poly tunnel things got so much better. I recommend the poly life style!

Try 'meet up' - it's a website with several groups that allow curious members to learn about poly and explore in a safe environment (you won't be leapt upon at the first meeting)

It is something that has and dose work well for us.

We have been lucky and found the relationship side has made us all stronger.

Wasp has it right in the basics are simple and there are many resources online.

Happy to chat to anyone about it

Clearly Noone has all the awnser and no one way kf right fir everyone

But we can talk from our experience

Personally i like celebrating a dumb card manufacturers holiday

I only celebrate it with one person though as i only have one partner as i don't get the poly thingy, swinging with others is fine but not into relationships with anyone other than my lovely hubby

Hi Bibunny, hope this thread's been helpful! If you're much of a reader I'd definitely recommend The Ethical Slut which covers some of the behavioural stuff to consider, but most importantly I'd recommend talking honestly with your current partner about what you both would feel comfortable with *and* with any potential partners what level of intensity they want from a relationship. For some people a committed relationship is spending one night a week at your house is a committed relationship, while for others that's casual - and the anxiety that results from misinterpreting each other's behaviour can be a real pitfall. Also I'd definitely encourage you to get along to some poly meetups on kink websites etc., not to scope out new partners but to talk to other poly people about the day-to-day experience of it all.
