Young man finding it tough

Find it tough to find people who are willing to participate with Men as young as myself? Am I the only one finding this or is it just one of those things? Any suggestions or ways to approach which I may be able to change. Thank you in advance for your help and guidance.

Well yes it's not a city, but it's not actually my hometown, and both Taunton and Exeter are within a short drive..
