You get similar things on Facebook all the time, people are gullible.

I prefer the parodies that people do, some are pretty inventive!

What gets me is when people's actual profile text takes up less space than the warning.

People ignore the request from Fab NOT to put it on your profile because it is actually meaningless. . .

Under copyright law your images and text is already protected so you don't need that statement to legally take action.

Also who has ever actually taken legal action? My bet is no one.

Copyright belongs to the person who took the photo so I hope you have permission to use that as your profile pic! (Tongue firmly in cheek)

There is another totally misquoting human rights legistlation. That one makes people look even more stupid.

I would love someone that has it to explain their logic or how they think it offers any protection of any sort

i did make a suggestion to how it could be stopped.... but it was considered too harsh.....

i wish they would reconsider.... i think it was an easy and effective way of getting the message across......

Newcastle and Gateshead

i made the "suggestion" that admin sent out an email to everyone asking people to get rid of it explaining why....

then give people lets say 28 days......

after that..... start suspending people's profiles that have it on...... again sending out an email explaining why....

carrot and stick.......

Why don't you offer to write every single members profile?, would this be better?...If this is your only grivance then you're thriving, so I'd not worry about WORDS on someone elses profile.

Would you knock on someones door and ask them to take down a 'my dog bites' sign?

I know, let's all keep up with the Jonses and copy and paste the shit out of everything. and have FAB give us a template.

Apart from anything else, it's completely meaningless and has no legal standing. This is simply because once you have published photos or details about yourself online, it is in the public domain.

The simplest means of preventing anyone from using any of your images is to not upload any in the first place.

Clacton on Sea

No text protects you in the the UK, the UK have the worst copyright laws in Europe regarding pics etc.

Everyday i am emailing different sites asking them to remove pics i have shot which i have model releases for, almost all remove them & sites like Adult Work even contact me to ask if i have gave permission for certain models pics to be used.

You need to trust the original photographer because they will have full copyright of any pics they take under the UK's shit laws so be 100% sure of them first.

It also annoys site admin as this meaningless warning on numerous profiles takes up valuable server space - there's even a Faq devoted to it.
