You go to a club and there are people you know from outside the scene? That's my only concern! I know that they're there for similar reasons but how do you approach without running and hiding or pretending you haven't noticed them?

I always worry about that a litte but then what can they say - it's not like they can say anything bad about you - they are doing exactly the same thing I know it's easier said than done and that the feeling of awkwardness will be there if it happens...but perhaps show them that you are bigger than that and do the bold move - approach them just have a chat - in the end of the day they are there for the same reasons as you are

I agree, once in the situation I probably will be the bigger person and go say hi, at least I hope I will. It's a difficult one because the people that we socialize with on a weekend basis are all a little bit debauched as it is and you just never know what they get up to in their free time.

This happened to me very recently, with a woman I hadn't seen since before my University days. We didn't have the chance to talk, but I think we both were a little surprised to see the other, after all, we were among the more reserved ones in our old social circle. Always the quiet ones, eh?

It is so rare it shouldn't be a problem. We have been to clubs literally dozens of times in the last 11 months. We once saw a couple where the guy was known to my OH (but only as someone's brother or something like that). They were standing at the bar about to leave. We had no reason to speak to them so didn't. However we do accept the conventional answer - we are all there for the same reasons.

So long as they're not the neighbourhood/work gossip - I wouldn't worry.

It's only an issue if you know they'll go rushing off telling everyone else you know.

The 'they're there for the same reason as you' argument is true - but some are more open about their lifestyle choices than others. And discretion isn't a philosophy all subscribe to.

But worrying about the potential of bumping into someone you know is pointless. There's a chance of course. But a comparably small one.

We've met a few people we know (passing acquaintances so far) in clubs. Always been friendly!

In a way it serves to remind how 'normal' this part of our lifestyle really is!

Been there but not at a club but being recognised on site. We chatted and then we played, still had same banter in playground as always. Sometimes just braving it out is best

I bumped into a guy who was a good friend of my late husband in a club few wks back. The guy was gob struck and embarrassed as hell , but me being me just went over gave him kiss and hug told him me and hubby always went to clubs before he died... Embarrassment over ...

Like you say they are there for the same reason as you, if either party feels I comfy you can leave or make the most of it swallow your pride and enjoy your time there,

Considering my nearest club is 2 hours drive away, I was gobsmacked to bump into someone from Arse End a coupla years ago...even more so as he was a very glamorous TV...took me all night to work out who he was and nowadays we're good mates who enjoy both vanilla and swinging nights out together

I've bumped into my sisters boss at a club several times...never played but do speak to him...when I last went for a meal at the restaurant he owns I got extra garlic bread and olives, so it has its bonuses!

It has happened to us .2 people who work with wife and one who works near me . We have had fun with two of them and are yet to bump into .third won't be long as they frequent same club. We bumped into others smiled and just took it from thre.
