Personally I think a suit is over the top, but it's very much down to personal preference. You should go it what makes you feel confident

See it is personal preference as I've seen women go.... Gaga over guys who have suited and booted at a club.

Smart shirt or top and trousers

A suit is a bit too much, only seen them worn in clubs at New Years or an event like a masquerade ball.

A shirt and trousers is the norm.

Preferably with a smart pair of shoes also! Dress to impress, the girls do...

I personally like to see a guy make an effort, shirt and smart trousers or suit, too many guys go to clubs looking in my opinion scruffy

Always make an effort when going to a club, suit or at least shirt and trousers with smart shoes. After all the ladies have made an effort why shouldn't the men.
