First impressions are critical in this game me thinks, so I am attempting to improve on my terrible characterless face pictures. Sadly I have the sort of face one generally sees attached to a large, suited gentleman standing in the door way of a seedy nightclub. My question is, how can you go for the natural look when taking a selfie, trying to concentrate and look natural do not make for good bed fellows!!

Idea's anyone??

Use a normal pic on a night out

Selfies are difficult to take. I rely on them unfortunately. I couldn't comment on yours as no public pic but yes use some other pics or get someone to take some

when someone asks for me to take a picture of them I usually record a video.

I then take snapshots out of the video.

The pics look more natural and not forced.

I disagree with some comments about selfies not being flattering etc, I rely on selfies, do pretty decently on here and have a pretty characterless face myself...the only advice I can give you through what I like to see in others pics and how I take my own pics is to smile, smile like you would if someone else was taking the picture or even laugh, your prersonality will shine through your eyes, a smiling face is much more inviting than a gormless selfie...smile and the world will smile with you! Well that is a heavy price to pay for looking so adorable and sexy.

But I understand, the reality is just plain rudeness. Perhaps if they set a minimum number of words for messages, the 'fancy a fuck' artists would fancy and fuck off!! But then again I'm sure they would find a way. I feel for you genuine, decent folk though, truly I do.

My selfies seem to do pretty well!

Key is look at the camera not the screen! Breathe in ever so slightly when you take it helps open the eyes up and stops the half closes dopey look!

Smile!!! Most mens selfies are ruined by not smiling.. I usually think of something rude or funny (or both) to get the right smile going!

Just breath relax and love yourself in that camera and it will come out ok

Thank you honeyflower, that is excellent advice. Me thinks I will spend the day pouting and posing now in preparation!!!! Although, to be fair, I'm very sure, your camera has an incredible object for image creation, mine will just have me in front of it!!!

be wearing something u love or naked if your happy.

Think of a happy place and relax and the camera will work its magic

Selfies can be very beautiful and enigmatic. Just look at the photo of Honeyflower's eyes. In our view the key is always to pay attention to the light and the background. The right light can transform a poor photo into a great one. In other words don't just snap - think first.
