we are just thinking about having a party at home - just a very small group of our friends (only got a small gaff so no choice to be minimal) - wondered on the rules/expectations - for instance would we be right to say all stay and play in the lounge or is that too strict - will people want to split off and go into other rooms - we are only talking 6 or 8 altogether - we would provide some food and drinks and towels etc -

Your house - your rules!

Might be worth having one bedroom available though. But the choice is always yours!

Have fun!

We have been to two small parties - on a boat actually but that's not strictly relevant - where everyone stayed in a lounge area. Made it more like a party and less like a club. It was an interesting occasion each time.

However the real point is, you let people know how you will be staging the party before the event, then everyone knows what to expect.

Have a great time.

As long as you inform people before what you want to happen. If people don't like your rules they don't accept your invite

thanks - the people we would ask know us really well anyway - just dont to look a prat by suggesting something that isnt the norm - i think two sofas and a duvet on the floor will provide plenty of space for fun - been looking at some party pics and quite like the pile of bodies in the middle of the floor/sofas
