verifications from those who have left fab

Hi all

Ok well, I was posed a question in response to my initial message. I was asked- 'why do you not show all your verifications?' My response being- 'as they are no longer on fab.'This of course is stated by fab that they do not show if users have left the site.

No reply.

It got me thinking. I think it would be a good idea if admin allow past verifications to show on your profile and simply say the user is no longer on site. Do you think this is a good idea?

It would then eliminate the need to ask but then question those that choose not to show certain verifications. I can't think why you wouldn't if you are genuine!

What are your thoughts guys?

Very good idea as I've lost some of my favourite verifications from people leaving and then coming back as new names etc...

I sort of agree, But I have various verifications from the same people due to them leaving and re-joining etc plus I have some that were to graphic so they re-verified with less so graphics so even summaries are not really truthful.

I can see it could be abused because someone could set up a profile, then set up multiple fake profiles to verify the original profile then close down or hide all the fake ones. If I see a lot of verifications on a profile from people who have either left the site or hidden their profile, then I assume the original message is also from a fake.

I lost two veri's because they left the site. For some members, they won't even bother replying to a message if you have no verifications and state as much on their profile, so yes, it would be good.

Hmmm good point. So maybe admin could look at an option of users deleting the verification they have posted initially and replace with another you are all happy with. How technology is these days it could be an option??

I think I can see what you are saying.

But surely it's a step in the right direction to ensure more genuineity?

Or a member with No verifications stating that they aren't interested if you don't have any!

I don't show all of mine. I was accused by one person in chat room of using up too much server space....

I don't show mine because I like to be private in general...Some have disappeared as people have left but not others.

Like a lot of things on the site, it's that old personal choice thing again and we are all different one way or another.

It would be good though, I guess, for the old ones to be shown in some way if there was a safe way of doing that [as in not being able to fake them, as mentioned above...]. Might be too complicated though...

"I can see it could be abused because someone could set up a profile, then set up multiple fake profiles to verify the original profile then close down or hide all the fake ones"

Exactly this...It would open the doors for all kinds of fakery extra to what we already have...I'd rather lose them than take that chance to be honest

You can still show the summary amount and type of past verifications on your profile to prove you've had them to start with even if they have all left the site.

The reason it could be a bad idea is this.

You make your profile.

You make a second profile, verify yourself with a glowing report. Repeat repeat repeat....

Loads of AMAZING verifications. And turns out your none of these things or even dangerous.

Thoughts?

Couldn't you do that anyways, and just not close fake accounts?
