A met a guy been talking to him for a while said he was 27 and to be fair he did look it he seemed really nice met him in his car had some fum then he told me he was really only just 19.. was not amused reported him and blocked but was still on the site and still is

Lying about age is something people have done "since time immemorial".

My take on lying about age is:-

Age is but a number, you are only as old as the person you feel (grins).

Compatibility is more important.

I have different _iews about lying in general.

I do the same, not sure if admin get them to amend it?

On the ID though, I was meeting a guy for about 6mths who told me he was 30 to begin with. He later admitted he was 24 and I wouldn't believe him till he showed me his driving licence!

I've seen one female profile who states in her profile text that she is in fact ten years older than the age shown on her profile but finds she gets blocked by filters if she uses her real age. This particular user is here for a while then UNLOS. Lost count of how many new profiles i've seen her create during my time here

I have come across it a few times. Tbh I judge on the person rather than the date on any documentation...which to be fair I don't ask to see.

It's more about the age you are in your head...as long as not massively out.

Did meet one lady for coffee.....profile said 38. Pics must have been bloody ancient etc. she did admit to being older but didn't say by how much....I would have guessed a fair bit tho!

The "meeting" went no further....but hey, she paid for the coffee n cheesecake!

No idea why people lie about age. Insecurity maybe. I had a woman contact me who was 25 on her profile which is the lowest I woukd ever consider. She admitted to being 18. instant block. Just definitely not for me.

Just don't meet them, if that's an issue. You could ask them whats the point of lying about there age, 16 years difference is a fair bit.

That's not a 'lie' that's easy to spot tho is it ? especially these days with the cost of living/rent etc a lot of guys are sharing. I'm single but can't realistically accom, it just simply isn't a lie.

Age is just a number at the end of the day but I do think that some lie because people have a set age limit and they don't fall in to that limit

I'm single but I really cannot accomodate, since my now ex has the house, and left me with nothing but very large legal bills. I have to stay with relatives whilst I try to get myself back together.

About people lying about their age - like someone else mentioned above, I've had a couple of encounters where the lady admitted to lying about her age - not that it made any difference to me.

. I don't spend too much time checking someone's age . The important bit for me is the content of their profile , how it is written , and their pictures . I hardly ever look at the age bit .You can judge age based on pictures anyway.

. Seems a bit of a broad generalisation. Why should being single and unable to accommodate be a lie.? People may live with their parents , have children or live in shared accommodation. Not everyone is lucky enough to be able to afford their own exclusive accommodation.

Yep...mine is usually not quite my real age because I don't like filling in my real date of birth on things. It's not different enough to be significant to anyone and I'm not doing it for filters. There's degrees of lying.

If I'd met someone who looked a certain age, got on well with them and then found out at a later date they were older or younger I'm not sure how bothered I'd be, unless they were someone I was planning to meet regularly. Yes it's a bit dishonest, but if I enjoyed myself with them anyway without knowing that, it wouldn't really matter. (Providing they were legally old enough to be here of course!)

After reading this thread I made a decision and changed my date of birth accurate to illustrate my real age. Since then the number of messages I've had that praise my figure, my sexiness, my smile and then qualified it with "for your age"!!!!! Hopefully now I will meet the people who aren't ignorant twats.........
