here and there, thereabouts

Take your measurements then have a look at either a catologue or online shops clothing guide would seem the most sensible.

I'd look at size 18 to start with. Say 38 or 40 for underwear. At first it's always try and see what fits. Be wary that sizes vary by stores quite wildly at times

You will be fine just trying things on. Most women's clothes do seem to have been made for men.

I bra's the number is the measurement around the rib cage approx 3 inches lower than your nipples. The letter refers to the size of the breast so it all depends on what you're filling it with. A smaller cup size can be stuffed with socks or even (I haven't looked at your pics so it's not a comment on you) a rearrangement of mobs! So for your first bra opt for an A or B cup.

The rest of female underwear is based on dress sizes which vary slightly from different manufacturers. Err on the size of caution and opt for a bigger size - remember, knickers are often not returnable especially when ordered off the Internet.

Women's shoe sizes don't correlate to mens - mens are often a wider fit. So if you are shoe shopping it's worth trying a specialist store and asking for advice.

Thanks for the help. Really overwhelmed by the reaction. Had a niggling feeling I'd have some one on here slagging me off for asking. If any one would like to help me shop, your more than welcom. I'll be doing it online, don't have the best fashion sense so need as much help as I can get :p xx

also shops don't have standard sizes, a 12 from Marks and Spencers or next will be bigger than a 12 from Miss Selfridge for instance. t won't cost you to return items so order in two sizes and send the one back that doesn't fit. Retailers won't accept returned underwear unless its faulty by the way

I've bought women's jeans before because I preferred them.

I'm 6ft, 32-34 waist and a size 14 from New Look fit great!

Brighton - even Hove!

I have size 32 waist but when I was made to wear a pair of ladies panties, I was horrified to see I was a size 14. I wanted to be a 12.

lol

agree with what the ladies have said, same size varies. Also if you buy off ebay remember sizing changed a couple years back, 14 became 12 etc.

There are stores that do larger size shoes, Asda and a couple other large supermarkets often do up to a 9. Been lucky in that I can generally get size 8 ladies and they fit ok. Just don't go straight for 5+ inch stilettoes, takes practise to walk around in them

Worth checking if there are any specialist dressers in your area, join a TV site for advise on boobs etc. Again don't go OTT, what size suits your frame. Depends on the image you want and if you want to be convincing etc.

Most of all, have fun doing it

Yea I deffinetly want to be convincing, and look half decent atleast lol. Il buy things off the internet and then if they fit happy days, if they don't il send them back (other than underware of course). Iwant to be sexy but fairly comfertable. And maybe have a go at makeup. Basically I want to be a sexy young girl lol x

Until I started doing this I had no idea how difficult it was for women. Every shop seems to be different and even within the same shop the different cuts and styles can mean different sizes needed.

I think every guy should be made to dress fully, including make up, periodically, so they know just how much effort girls have to go to to look nice, and appreciate it rather than take it for granted.

Mind you, it is so much fun I suspect a lot of women don't want their hubbies to know that or they might just want to do it too often.

Get a friend to help you out. One you trust to give you an honest opinion on how you look. Also YouTube is great for make up videos if you want to try particular looks, like a smoky eye.

Both New Look And Evans do wider fit boots and shoes by the way. Order second hand on Ebay to try a cheap pair and make sure they fit. Anything straight or lined will probably feel smaller than something with more give. Boots do tights and stockings for tall and fuller figured as well, if that helps.

You could waste a lot of money on this.

After a while you'll probably move on from underwear. You tube is your friend, but I'd also try the serious trans forums such as roses repartee or UK Angels. I started on these but then I don't primarily do this for sexual reasons, the sex is just something I like to do sometimes when I'm me. TVChix has a lot of help too on the forums.

Any help from real girls and their forums/magazines is good too, but there can be overload as there is that much out there.

The 5 area's that make the biggest difference will be

1. Heels. It is no coincidence women love these and men love them in them. There is a world of difference walking around the house in them and walking outside, so you need to get used to them and even then you might like some cushion pads and plasters with you if you ever plan on being out a while.

2. Getting the right wig is probably the most important thing. If you look at how much time and money women put into getting their hair right this should be obvious, but just ordering what you like doesn't mean it will suit you. Best thing to do is go in person to a shop and try a load of colours and styles on. Trust me, it makes a huge difference and you'll avoid wasting a lot of money.

3. Foundation. Eye shadow, blusher and lipstick aren't that important but getting the right foundation is. Get this wrong and you'll always look bad. Any make up counter can help with the shade, but I'd recommend booking a lesson at a M.A.C counter. M.A.C make up is probably the make up of choice of most tgirls. The cost of the lesson is redeemable against any purchase on the day and you will certainly buy something. The only thing is the lesson is done on the shop floor in front of everyone. If this is too daunting then seek out a private make up artist. This will save you lots of money in the long run.

4. Boobs. Get some proper breast forms. They feel wonderful. I like Bosum Friends but there are several out there.

5. Finally, a corset. A good steel one, fitted. Expensive but worth it. Don't bother with cheap ones, they are a waste of money for most of us. We're changing shape, real girls are just emphasising their shape.
