Hi i have been on here for just over a year and have meet a hand full of couples and single women. I think i am being honest and informative on my profile but find it hard to get meets. I know i am single male which may not be helping.

I need advice on how to get more meets and be taken seriously.

Why not just meet the people you've already met again? meeting more people doesn't make it any better

You obviously haven't updated your profile text in a long time - you've had a birthday since.

The reference to May 29th is also a bit out of date (I assume that was this year, not last!!).

If a shop left a sign on the door "back in 10 minutes", and didn't take it down when they returned, would you go in? You might, but you'd hesitate.

On the issue of phone numbers - I haven't come across many people that would prefer to jump to phone contact before exchanging a couple of messages on here first. But lots of people say they're put of by it. So that element of your profile is not bringing in contact that you wouldn't have got otherwise, but is driving some people away... it's up to you what you do about that.

Because most of it is junk mail and I don't reply to that when it comes through my letterbox, in my inbox on msn or on here - do you.

junk mail, stuff sent to you that you have not requested, thats anything sent from people that do not fit the criteria you have stated in your profile ie those who won't meet smokers, those who won't meet people our age, those without pictures of both partners on thier profile, mails from single men, mails from single women etc etc - junkmail.

One line mail that doesn't deserve an answer due to lack of effort on the part of the sender, table tennis mail thats starts off "how are you", time, some people get 100s of mails a day. mails from people who have obviously not read your profile or worse ignored it.

There are lots of reasons why people don't answer all mails and why should they.

We do answer all mails but that's just our choice

When I look at a profile, I like a little bit of mystery. Just enough to make me ask the guy questions and want to get to know him and what he likes. But your profile explains in minutest detail what you want/like, it needs subtley, so I've edited it, see below:

I have to admit that I read the name as legover first.

The bit about the loving older ladies, bbw as well as younger ladies annoyed me I have to admit - it was essentially the "and the older ones are sometimes better" or words to that effect - it felt a bit disrespectful. I dont place people in categories such as young ones, old ones, bi ones etc etc.

Just perhaps try and make it sound less desperate, give us something that really makes us sit up and think, ooo hes a nice guy isnt he.

that said it is hard to write a profile and i guess ours is not brilliant either.

maybe theres nothing wrong with your profile, perhaps you just not phsically peoples cup of tea

You can have the best, well written profile but if when people get to the bottom they dont like your pics they wont reply

I dont think you should change it to meet people. You wrote your profile as you wanted to write it! There is no point writing it to meet everyones cup of tea, just try and be yourself.

Oh and yes, it will hurt when people reject you and never give you a real reason, but look at how many other men are on here and be thankful for what you do get! Be yourself!
