Ex gf finds profile.

This is real a call for advice . So do most know if some one they know discovered their fab profile. So on Sat my ex or her new swinging partner discovered my profile and asked for the pics of her to be taken down. We do not get along with each other because we fell out last Oct.

The original reason as to why i started a profile was to forget her and to try and enjoy being single if that was possible.

Oyhrer than blocking her which has already been done what else can be done to avoid her in case she discovers any of my other profiles on my otger sites.

Other than blocking?

If she was your ex and you had her pics on your profile could understand her asking for them to be removed understandably.

If you wanted to make a fresh start as per your post why have her pics on your profile in the first place?

I have no idea how other sites work but would assume they also have a means of blocking unwanted attention. What more do you feel you need to do to ensure that she cannot contact you?

You probably don't want to hear it but it doesn't make it acceptable.

If she's found out you've posted images of her on the net it makes sense why she wants to find you/them and have them removed.

Advice - be honest with her, remove the pics from the other sites

You are supposed to have the permission of the other person in the pictures to use them on here anyway.

I would be furious if I were here. I know the responses on the thread are what you were expecting but seriously....!

Like most have said already... You were in the wrong to have pics of her on your profile even if these did not show her face. If all she has done is ask you to remove them then you could consider yourself lucky.

On the other issue though, I have had similar where my ex and I were both on here. You've done the right thing by blocking her but there is always the possibility that she creates another profile you don't know about. But if you're both on here and leave each other alone should it matter??

Reply privatelyReply in forumReply +quote

By (user no longer on site)

Massive breech of her confidence so you should regret using the pictures, as for your other issue, your both adults I'm sure you will be able to avoid each other unless you feel she might stalk you or you may feel inclined to check her out, there shouldn't be an issue.

I'm sure there are plenty of other fab members in the same situation and they cope ok.

"But the pics i used are also on her facebook and my Facebook page they may have been on her fab profile for all i know. all i did was black out the eyes and face."

Ok so being honest did you ask her permission before you posted them on fab or did you assume that as they are on your Facebook you could use them.

Fab rules state that you need everyone in the pictures permission to post them here.

This is very sticky ground as laws are changing so posting pictures of exes on website could get people into a lot of bother with the law.

Unfortunately you will get just as much hassle for posting her pictures, the general theme of the responses is you have done wrong, you have dealt with the pictures now so all you need to understand is that you have done wrong.

As far as problems with your ex go, your both on here so what's the issue? She can't use it against you like you can't use it against her, you have both blocked each other so what other problems do you think may occur?

Slight twist on this I always remove pics of ex off fab part because to remove from this part of my life plus respect for her.

However i got asked by fab to remove the pics even though none of hervon site also never had face pics anyway.

I was threatened with a ban if not how the hell can you prove there are no pics of the person without giving access to the ex to see pics which would not happen she is ex for a reason lol.

Its open to abuse and think admin should ask for more detail of the pics before the warnings are given say fir example oic number two with detail of pics.

I would think as she asked for the pictures to be removed and permission was not asked before posting them then that would be malicious. Using a picture of an ex on a swingers site after a bad break up could be classed as revenge.

The proposed law covers the publication of pictures depicting the victim engaged in sexual activity without their consent. Whether this is done on a vindictive basis or for entertainment purposes won't matter at all. The criteria will be is there a lack of consent to publish and does the publication cause the victim distress.

For starters yes i realise mow it can be perceived as wrong as it was explained by a close freind of both of us. And yes i have just read p-16 of UK copy write laws and the EU laws and the freedom of online anominity.

No i did not perceive she would mind.

No it was not a bad relationship ok i had a problem woth one of her abusive exes aending me death threays but we were best mates for 6 months after we broke up even staying over each others flats. It all came to a head in October.

What i want to know moat is wheather any one else had the same?

Also the the person above who is unclear about my reasons for being on here i just want to exsperence the same freedom she and our mates bang on about. Because i do not feel free being single quite the opposit.

Speaking as an ex who's found out an ex has posted sexual content online of mine without my permission it's crushing. Even if you'd previously swung with her before you've still breached her trust to use those photos again!

Slightly off topic, but on the subject of revenge porn This is snippet from an online publication. I'm pretty sure as per the article they need to be with the intention of causing distress

PLEDGE TO TACKLE REVENGE PORN Those convicted of revenge porn – the distribution of a private sexual image of someone without their consent and with the intention of causing them distress – could face two years in prison under new laws.It will be made a specific offence, covering the sharing of images both online and offline, in the Criminal Justice and Courts Bill, which is currently going through Parliament. It will mean that images posted to social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter will be caught by the offence, as well as those that are shared via text message. Images shared via email, on a website or the distribution of physical copies will also be caught.Victims of revenge porn have previously found it difficult to have pictures removed from the internet. Many sites where the images are hosted are based outside the UK, and requests to remove content are often ignored. In some cases, asking for removal results in more attention being brought to the images. The move to clamp down on 'revenge porn' came after 149 cases, the vast majority of them involving women victims, were reported over two and a half years. Only six led to prosecutions. However, the new rules do not affect the consensual 'sexting' of images by under-18s. This is already illegal – but police cannot monitor mobile photo messages.

I think the fact that it's termed "revenge" porn means the intent to cause distress is already established. What other reason has somebody for publishing pictures of an ex?

I totally agree with everyone stating pornographic material of an ex should be posted, and admittedly I haven't read the whole thread, but didn't he state the pics were on Facebook and he'd blacked her face out? I then thought this was just an innocent pic of the couple, where maybe he thought he looked nice and wanted to use. I've seen a lot of pics like this, as long as she's not recognisable and its not anything sexual, I don't she the problem. She probably was just upset because she knew it was her or just wanted to deliberately irrate him.

I agree with most on here but however i don't think it would be against the law even if this new law came in if she allowed it. If the person knew you were putting up the photos and she allowed you to do it and then changed her mind for example 2 months down the line unless she told you that she could change her mind i very much doubt she can do anything about it as at the time it was posted she allowed it. However best to have evidence of this otherwise it be your word against hers and the way the law is the women will always win.

I thought he had done that, that's what he put.

"I totally agree with everyone stating pornographic material of an ex should be posted, and admittedly I haven't read the whole thread, but didn't he state the pics were on Facebook and he'd blacked her face out? I then thought this was just an innocent pic of the couple, where maybe he thought he looked nice and wanted to use. I've seen a lot of pics like this, as long as she's not recognisable and its not anything sexual, I don't she the problem. She probably was just upset because she knew it was her or just wanted to deliberately irrate him.

This is what the o.p. posted.

But the pics i used are also on her facebook and my Facebook page they may have been on her fab profile for all i know. all i did was black out the eyes and face.

What he should have done was cut her out all together.

I see just thought it would improve my chances as it was really the photo that was in any way could be considered sexy.

"I agree with most on here but however i don't think it would be against the law even if this new law came in if she allowed it. If the person knew you were putting up the photos and she allowed you to do it and then changed her mind for example 2 months down the line unless she told you that she could change her mind i very much doubt she can do anything about it as at the time it was posted she allowed it. However best to have evidence of this otherwise it be your word against hers and the way the law is the women will always win."

Thanks for a laugh

"Well the photos i took down had be init as well.

You probably don't want to hear it but it doesn't make it acceptable.

If she's found out you've posted images of her on the net it makes sense why she wants to find you/them and have them removed.

Advice - be honest with her, remove the pics from the other sites "

I agree, especially with the fresh start thing too. I've deleted mine and my exes dirty pictures as I got over him and just had no reason to keep them x

My view? Unless you have the express permission of any other party to use their image then don't

Interesting posts re Revenge Porn

Move on gracefully as you see plenty of people on the site but I can't see too many new contacts sharing a camera pose with you

"Take the photos of the internet, any sites you may have put them on, its wrong to post photos anywhere without permission, silly boy."

Not entirely true. Pictures taken in public/your own private land. It's acceptable should it not be for profit or or 'offend'.

You don't have to always have permission but does help.

I don't know too much about the new law. So everything I said could now be redundant

P-16 of the copy right act dictates a bit about photos. On the other hand most of our laws on privacy come from Europe and privacy on the internet.

Morally you are in the wrong here. It is totally wrong to keep the pictures. If Mrs N and I ever split up I will destroy/delete any pictures we ever had of us and other people. It's too pervy and I wouldn't want to cause her any upset or misunderstanding.

I did have pixs of my Ex wife and went to a lot of trouble to make sure absolutely any compromising pictures I had of her were deleted off anything we were ever associated with.

Just as a bit of respect for one another, you will be doing some wrong by putting up her picture on any of your profiles in as much as you both have technically ended your relationship on whateva grounds.

Mind you, it might take some time but you can still have fun just by uploading your pictures or are you discouraged by "no single men" filters on profiles and you wanna beat it......

I do not we to beat the system but be part of it. If some one has no men filters then clearly that means no men. The same procedure applies if they nearly .mention it on their profile but do not have any filters after all i do not want to waist any ones time.

The original reason as to why i started a profile was to forget her and to try and enjoy being single if that was possible.

Oyhrer than blocking her which has already been done what else can be done to avoid her in case she discovers any of my other profiles on my otger sites.

Other than blocking?"

Sounds like she had good reason to say something if you had her pix up its a bit of a shitty thing to do putting her pix up in the first place.
