It's a term that some people use to describe people who don't swing it is also sometimes used by the bdsm community I believe.

I don't like it myself I think it is a bit patronising

I don't think everyone uses it in a patronising manner just some people.

People who don't swing have just as interesting sex lives as people who do

I do use the term vanilla, purely in a manner to name something that isnt necessarily kinky sex.

So if someone were to say want to meet and cuddle and have sex in the missionary position - that I would describe as vanilla.

I use the term vanilla but not to patronise at all. I use it in the context that we have swinging friends, who we can discuss anything with and vanilla friends who we could never dare tell that we swing. Not meaning their sex lives aren't great, they just choose not to share

But have just Googled it and it says sex that involves no twists or kinkiest and no S&M and often refers to the missionary position so seems I have had it wrong all this time

I describe myself as fairly vanilla as I'm not the kinkiest person around. Not by Fab standards anyway!
