I cant help with East London but if you head throught the tunnel to kent you're only 25 mins away from Eureka... you have the right facilities there.

Could try a cheap hotel (like Premier Inn)? Some good ones in Thurrock, but I suggest you get a hotel that has entry which doesn't watch you too closely.
