Go to "Privacy", which is one of the options in "My Account" and elect not to show Friends List.

Because they are Billy No Mates but don't want anyone to know so they hide the list

1. I don't like to brag.

2. It slows down people who are scrolling down to my action pics.

3. Because they can.

4. I've known of people go through somebody's list saying "hi, we have a mutual friend..." and piggybacking their list.

well for us its because we find some using our friends list to get in touch with people
