abusive messages

why are there so many pathetic people lurking out there , twice in the past week two single ladies on my friends list have received abusive messages , to the point where they are considering deleting their accounts , I took to messaging one male asking what his problem was , probably no the best idea I know but is there anything that can be done to rid the site of these ridiculous beings ?

It really is that simple. Messaging them only encourages more abuse as someone else has said. I just have a laugh at their pathetic immaturity and move on.
