Hey,

Newbie here, and I'm curious as to why so many profiles are "whites only etc" everyone's entitled to their own opinion and preference but at least 80% of the profiles I view have this.

I'm not mad or whiny just curious as to why this is the mindset of so many female swingers.

Hope you guys can shed some light on this!

Usually not in relation to the Indians but pakistani their attitude towards women and sex often is very different to British views. Many being very offensive, you'll find its not just swingers but quite a lot of working girls won't meet Asians because of this.

Sadly most people are judged by the loudest part of their group.

Just like Brits are known in many holiday spots as loud mouth violent d*unks.

I do think no asians is a bit narrow minded considering how large it is with so many countries and cultures.

Would it be better saying no Pakistanis or Indians or Filipinos or Thais?

Saying that some only want BBC.

OP if 80% of profiles say that... now maths isn't my strong point, but that leaves 20% who don't - so focus on them.

Indeed, some people say it's personal preference. I've met Asians, Afro-Caribbeans and Africans, as well as whites. The difference between the cultures as I've found them is that some Asians seem more pushy and may put off some.

I'm Australian, so people may not want to meet an Aussie.

I suppose because like a lot of people we do suffer from Islamphobia...

Most if not all our issues have been and are with Muslim Asians...

Despite our best efforts not too.

TBH we have no issues with Sikhs, or Hindu's.

And as we said there are some very attractive Asian cpls on here.

We have found that some Asian men pretend not to be Asian saying they are Portuguese or South American etc.

Yeah to be honest it sounds a bit racist to me.

Also above^ very valid point. Whit , black all sorts of races can be just as bad or even worse. Its a shame my race would be defined by what the media publicise.

To be fair if we really want to get into it my own race disgusts me sometimes, when you hear about stuff like the India bus rape it really pushes things way back for people like me.

Take this; I was in Newquay recently and my god I was getting stated at dirty looks left right and center. We had gone there to go out and have good time but after a walk around with the stares and stuff we decided all that would happen would be trouble.

Now that for me hurt. The fact that I just walking into a town like that with no bad reputation yet still getting stared at and dirty looks, you could say I was paranoid but me my father and a few friends agreed that there was definenty a racist undertone there.

Didn't really expect to cause this much of a storm but it's getting interesting to say the least!

Despite the clumsiness of the above ^

...they have highlighted an interesting point. This point is that many traditional Islamic communities across Britain feature some particularly archaic and duplicitous standards regarding women - particularly white, western women, hold sway. It does not do anyone credit to dismiss this.

(It should be born in mind that many UK nationals hold the same dismissive view towards women... oh how far feminism has to go...)

However, that said, to extrapolate the behaviour of one group or subset - however large - and apply it to ALL members of a group indiscriminately is not only morally and ethically wrong it is (even worse) logically untenable.

While I have some 'hard limits' regarding who I find attractive I always prefer to judge the individual without reference to preconceptions (however difficult that may be at times), life is, I find, much more fun that way!

Please just focus on those open to meeting you and attend one of the many socials, etc advertised on Fabs. I am sure when peeps meet you in person, find out that you are a wonderful guy, that you will get veris and meets then you will be off and running!

The hard fact is if peeps don't want to meet, they don't want to meet-for whatever reason, whether they tell you or not.

Just missing the "no dogs" eh! Tbh, I don't necessarily feel offended by it, but it does make me question how 'integrated' we really are as a society. Don't get me wrong, I agree/appreciate that some people have a 'type', ie: Blonde hair, blue eyes, but it does still seem a little crass to make such a sweeping statement. Personally I feel there are different layers of "attraction" and every person out there is different. For example, some of the 'no blacks' couples/fems may actually find "Will Smith" to be a very funny, handsome and attractive man...

To be honest. It doesn't really bother me what people think. Well, not anymore anyway. It was a shock to my system when i first joined the site, i was giving out messages and face pics but the abuse i got returned was a bit

. That did put me off meeting or even going to parties/socials for the first year or two.

I never used to get abuse like that outsite of fab and i used to find a bit disheartening when i thought to myself 'i'd sign up to a site where people may be a bit more openminded and non judgemental'. Not tarnishing everybody with the same brush - but, it was due to those messages i stopped messaging and got myself in to the forums.

But now, looking back, maybe i was a bit more naive back then and now i'm not too fussed really. I still get the abuse but it doesn't bother me no more. The way i see it - thank fuck i didn't end up meeting them.

OP always remember their is someone for everyone. Just persevere, ignore the shite from those who's mouths it leaks and focus on the positives of others. Thick skin and a laid back attitude is what is needed on this site and it seems you have both.

My take on the " no this and no that" on a profile is.....yes I know it is preferences and we can all have them....but our preferences are in our head and if someone mails us that are not in that preference we just say no thanks.

I personally think it looks awful to have shouty letters saying no this that or the other( be that fat/ thin/ colour/ sexual orientation etc.... I am guessing most people know it will offend some people and I don't know why they would want to do that.

I can understand what you mean and yes preferences are good to show....if someone wants tall dark handsome men there isn't a problem for me to say it.....it is more the " I don't want this, I don't want that" type of thing I mean. A lot of people don't have what they are looking for just what they don't wan't.

I think it is more about the context and how it is said more than what is being said if you see what I mean?

I state my preferences on my profile but it doesn't mean that I am homophobic or racist. Guys having sex with guys and men with dark skin do not appeal to me sexually. It doesnt mean that i avoid these men in real life as friends etc. I have been accused of being anti bi men, racist, shallow etc. I am none of those, I just dont want to have sex with them.

I am sorry that the OP has suffered any form of abuse based on his race/colour.

Yes, I see what you mean.

I tried to have a balance on my profile. I give some information about what appeals to me (also hints on what to put into a message to get my attention) as well as the things that are "deal breakers".

It saves, say, smokers wasting time messaging and me wasting time dealing with it when I won't, under any circumstances, be interested in meeting them.

It would also, if people bothered to read and understand it, save the butthurt abuse from, say, smokers when I turn them down.

I think in the context of the first post, smoking etc is not included in what I was thinking about. It was more offending people for their colour/ sexual choice/ size etc

Now that you get abuse from people who smoke does it not tempt you to take it off and just say no thanks to smokers without the need to explain anything?

Not sure if this will offend the o p but in my view if you are born in britain you are british and not asian either one or the other in my view.

Its about perceptions and integration by this it comes across to me as not fully acceoting britain as birthplace.

Sorry of it uosets anyone especially the o p who i expect is a genuinely nice guy but by posing the question a opinion is justified.

The no asian statuses folk put on is no different to putting as some do ssying only wants black its a preference and race should never be brought into it as it does.

Just gonna say, am not entirely in agreement. Now one of my preferences is "No Bi guys, TV/TS/CD's" as far as meeting goes, but chatting/socialising makes no difference to me as I'll chat to anyone. I however only put it on my profile in the last couple of years after being harassed by a number of bi guys on a weekly basis.

And their justification?

"Well, a profile is for putting what you want or don't want, you haven't got on your profile that you're not interested so how was I to know".

I ignored the first bi guy that said this, but when it became a repeat occurrence and I was tired of blocking (after receiving abuse) and reporting (and no outcome from admin) I eventually took ownership of the issue and put "No bi guys".

Am I going back to the "dark ages" by putting what I don't want? I don't believe so, but if am gonna be damned if I do and damned if I don't, I'd rather communicate clearly.

I am and will always be a pro-preference player. Simple example: Am not a 6ft tall, uniform wearing, rugby playing white male, but if I came across a profile that wanted (any combination of these) and ruled me out, I would more than happily respect their preferences and move on. In fact, I'd appreciate that they did communicate clearly their preferences. No one is psychic.

Some people are offended by being excluded by people's preferences, regardless of what they are.

No, I'm not tempted to take it off my profile. It might prevent some smokers from messaging me and it means I can, without so much as a twinge of guilt, delete messages from smokers without reading them or replying. (If someone does match my preferences I usually reply even if it's a no thanks).

Oh I completely agree, the search criteria should make it clear. But seeing as there were several (for lack of a better word) "geniuses" that needed some verbal roadmap (I should be appreciative .. it showed they actually read my profile), I felt I best make sure they have no excuse and do them a favour.

It still doesn't stop the messages though, just the abuse. Especially when I reply "So, you're the genius that thought I'd make an exception for you?" lol.

Its not pandering, but I do hope to shed light on how silly said individual is being.
