Yes I tried after reading about it, its only really for people into a little bdsm, you're meant to insert a fingers of skinned ginger into your bum before spanking it stops you clenching your cheeks because if your dont it squeezes more juice out of the ginger and more pain. Don't use any lube though because that lessens the pain.

No. It's not sounding. Sounding is urethral play.

Figging, as already said, is usually part of a bdsm play.

I've not tried it,yet, but as the sub I would be given a fresh root of ginger to carve into a butt plug. If it's been previously frozen it enhances the effect.

It would then be inserted into my bum without any lube or water so not to block the effect.

I would have to keep it in there until I was allowed to remove it.

It's supposed to be quite warming and if you clench it burns a bit. So whipping or spanking is even more fun because you try not to clench and if you are brought to orgasm it will certainly add to the sensation

Or, intricate carving and peeling of a large piece to create a plug that has a solid 'T' section.

The best results are achieved with very fresh ginger, ideally, with green shoots rather than the aged and dried roots that get into some supermarkets.

Keep it cool and return it to the fridge after peeling, and before insertion. The effect (warming, mild burning; mild being underlined) is intensified if the external anal sphincter contacts against the ginger, think spanking / flogging, and usually last for 5 - 30 minutes.

Don't use lube, although a little water is OK.

Origin; unknown, possibly Greek or Roman.

Because it comes from the verb "feague" - which means to liven something up, namely a tired old horse. When dealers were looking to sell an old nag, they'd shove a piece of ginger or a live eel up the horse's bum to perk it up for a little while as it went through the block.

It also was used in dressage training to encourage horses to keep their tails high.
