My periods are all over the place (just my age I guess!) and I'm having to cancel meets at the last minute, which is something I really don't like to do.

I've had my tubes tied so they won't give me the coil etc so that options out.

Has anyone any experience of using Beppy tampons (stringless tampons)? Do they do what they say and are they reliable?

Yes I've used them and as far as I know they haven't been detected. They can be a bit awkward to get out after though....apparently getting them saturated in water can help with this. They are a life saver for me as I tend to have irregular periods. Hope this helps.

Mine were like that, probably due to age also, they were very heavy too and because of this I was referred for endometrial ablaision. happy to say seen nothing at all since and that was five years ago. Just a thought, may be an option xx

There are two kinds, Beppy and Gynotex. Whichever you opt for go for the wet variety as they are easier to insert and shaped better for removal. The wet ones also have a small hole that you can tie a piece of dental floss through to aid removal.

But yes....it's awkward when you've arranged to meet your current beau and you have to cancel at short notice!

For me yes it is completely worth it. party nights for us are dictated by baby sitter availability and involve booking hotels. And I've never had that much trouble getting them out...

The wet one's are shaped so they are easier to retrieve

Thanks for the responses. Didn't know about the wet/dry option. As for will it be worth it - I'd have to say yes. I hate being sexually frustrated!!

I use the dry option as I am very sensitive in that area the wet ones make me sore I do find them a little big so do tend to trim them down a bit but work fab my friend has also used a car sponge just made her own puts it in boiling water let's it cool same result just cheaper will defo try it when I run out xx

What do you think they r made of sponge just shaped put in a small packet and sold at stupid price she said car sponge is much softer as not to scratch the paint work might come in handy if u have a meet and have run out

Many sponges will shed (tap over a piece of white paper, especially if you're considering cutting to size) and will leave fibres inside which can upset your balance. And quite a few sponges will tear which could make retrieval very tricky.

If you are going to use anything else apparently the.best is a natural sponge and it would need to be sterilized in boiling water.

OP some women love them, but they don't work for everyone. Sounds like it would be worth trying them out when you don't have anything planned, just in case they don't work for you. Less stress that way too.

Trust me. ... It won't fall out. Once it's in it's in. .... and yes it has been very vigorously tested!!!

When women reaches a certain age, they have no clue of their monthly cycle because Mother Nature likes be be a pure bitch & surprise us when we are least expecting it! If only it was as easy as your comment, we would be laughing our way to every meet!

OP I've used them and they are great and I got the dry ones but just lubricate them with a little live before inserting.

I always tell people if I use them & I never let a gut go down in me even with one in, even if he wants to.

Yes getting it out us a faff, but so worth it as you get to still have non messy fun without needing to take drugs to mess with you hormones.

I don't like the wet ones, there's far too much lubrication on them and I find it seeps out

it's almost a wet/oily texture..

The dry ones are much better in my op. Especially if playing with someone who isn't your "regular" partner and not expecting a handful/face full of wet oil!

That only works if you know when your period will start as you have to start taking it 3 days before it's due. That's a bit tricky if they are irregular!

I've recently had a coil fitted and it is very much in a settling in stage (only 4 days without bleeding in 3 weeks) which came at an awful time to knock my confidence back just as we were arranging our first meet!!

I shall have to invest in these

I swear by Gynotex. I was sterilised 4 years ago and then had Mirena coil fitted 18 months ago. Had a few probs with the Mirena so going off for a refit next week.... but gynotex are a god send...

I've tried soft cup, worked but sounded like I had a crisp packet up my fanny. Plus could be felt by the man. Tried beppy and it could be felt by a guy I see regularly (guess he knows how I feel 'normally') but a new guy never mentioned it so presume it was ok.

If all else fails you need a shower which is one one of those flexible hoses.

Unscrew the shower rose so you just have the hose. Turn the water on slow and just warm. Insert the hose so it saturates the sponge.

Then stand up for a while. The weight of the waterlogged sponge will make it drop so you can get hold of it.

If you have to do this it's worth using a balanceactiv or a rephresh afterwards.

Read this thread yesterday and ordered some beppy tampons to try this weekend, arriving tomorrow/ thursday hopefully.

Great I thought, all prepared and ready to go, however mother nature has other ideas and the dreaded periods arrived a few days earlier than expected spoiling what was looking like a promising meet tonight

After reading this thread i did some Google research on the "Beppy's".

Quite by accident i stumbled upon an Advice Forum for Escorts

& the overall consensus from the "working" girls was that the Beppy is probably the best option to use for that time of the month!

So, a box has been ordered & we shall see, altho a little worried about retrieval, Hmmmmm

They are very useful but just be careful if you have allergies or are sensitive to certain things. They are ok in most cases but I now use the dry ones as took a major allergic reaction to the wet ones!

I love Beppy.

I still want to play while I'm on, and opportunities to play are few and far between, so don't like to waste them if they present while I'm on.

I tried beppy, my OH has to help me get it in far enough, but once in up against my cervix he cannot feel it.

He says I don't taste different either, so it's win win for me.

Update!

I tried these for the first time @ the weekend with my FWB. It was his Birthday weekend & the bitch, Mother Nature thought she would put a spanner in the works!

They were great, was a wee bit apprehensive having never used anything like this before, i can say they do what they say on the box lol

Only downside is the retrieval but with time i'm guessing this will become easier & the tip a poster on here gave RE: the shower head, works a treat!

Retrieval gets easier... I can push mine down now far enough to get it with the right pelvic floor moves lol...

I always have at least two in my play bag and find them great for long days out too xx not just the sex side... But they are just fantastic

Been using them for a year now although not using the beppy ones now x

I ordered the wrong ones by mistake one time and found them better .. they are by toy division x I just find them easier to insert and remove and more comfy x
