club virgin, where to start

Hiya, I'm a club virgin and I'm really interested in visiting one as they sound great. Can anyone recommend a good club and which night would be a great starting place for a lone guy to go to as a club virgin.

Sorry, forgot to say I'm from Coventry and can travel to a club if highly recommended
