I am baffled with the fact I have had one of my friends only photographs found on tumbler. . Only cure all images will either be set to private or all friends get deleted.... any advice lol

I say it everytime, if you don't want it spread around the internet.....don't upload it to a website.

No matter what systems are put in place a simple screen shot can capture a image forever , unfortunately the only safe way to keep pics is to use a good old fashioned camara with film, develope it yourself and then lock them in a safe down a deep dark well .
