No need to panic!

It simply means that Microsoft are no longer supporting the XP operating system, and there will no longer be any updates or security patches issued.

Your computer will not blow up and will continue to work same as before.

Make sure that you have up-to-date anti-virus protection though (the 'free online versions are sufficient for home use)

XP is very old now. Microsoft are stopping supporting it. That means if any hackers find a new way to hack XP Microsoft will not put an update out to fix it. Install windows 8 then install classic shell so you can make it look like windows XP.

Even if you have antivirus and spyware software installed you will not be fully protected. It's time to get rid of your windows XP. You don't need to buy a new PC just buy a copy of windows 8.1.

I'd rather eat my own head than install windows 8, it's awful! Thankfully I have windows 7 which will be supported for at least as long as my laptop survives.

Once you've tried Mac - there's no going back..!!!

So glad that I switched some years ago...

Yes, Macs are expensive - but as a system they far outlast anything running Windows and just keep going...
