It boils back to the pizza analogy. (Which I can't take credit for) - I like pizza, love it. On fabpizzas.com I'd happily post pictures of me eating them in every way possible. I love them so much I even have "I love pizza" on my front door, on car stickers, and a cheeky "I like 2 slices at once" tshirt.... Bobs pizza shop opens up locally and drops his very well composed and gorgeous looking leaflet through the door... He knows I love pizza and he thinks his is the best.... Problem is, I've just eaten...
Poor old Bob has gone to so much effort with his leaflet? Maybe I should email him, respond to his advances, explain to him how sorry I am. After all he made all that effort?
But no, I do what everyone else does - I glance at it and recycle his flyer.
Bob is enraged! How can I be so up myself! His pizzas are the best!! You said you loved pizza? You even taunt me with pictures of you stuffing it in your gob at different angles! I went to all that trouble and you just ignore me??? Bin my message to you????

I'm driving about and see this, and think, ok, he's obviously talking about me - I'll never visit and I'll let everyone else I know that he's a pest too. Thing is people who never new this now see the sign and think - that's not very professional, we'll avoid Bobs pizza too.
Bob is never any the wiser, that he's lost a customer and the friends of that customer too and people who see bob as a whingey fucktard.
What bob also didn't realise is that I saw something in his first flyer "may contain nuts" which is a show stopper for me, so regardless of how good his pizza is, and regardless of how wonderful it looked, or was to everyone else, it was never going to be for me.
There are a million and 1 things others will see in you that you don't see in yourself and the way you present yourself online.
The moral of the story, don't worry about it. You can't be everything to everyone - and when creating a first post, never mention your nuts!!

They owe you nothing. If they don't reply, they are not interested or busy or whatever!!!! - the point is, it shouldn't matter to you. The fact that it does is the issue, not the lack of response.
