This question has been met by varying degrees of astonishment, contempt and disbelief. The original post doesn't say that these people don't do it it asks "do you?". I have been reading the forums for some time and the degree of misunderstanding and ignorance surrounding safe sex is breathtaking and there is an underlying tacit belief that stis can't be passed from woman to woman only from men to women, women to men and men to men I believe questions like this are very useful becaue they make people question these beliefs.

I was once chatting to a couple who were saying about him swapping from her to me and back again...I mentioned about us needing plenty condoms though and they asked why! I told them we wouldn't be meeting as I valued my sexual health and they couldn't understand what my problem was as he was going to wear 'a' condom...needless to say they were then blocked. If people want to take risks that's their choice, but if you don't understand the risks you're taking then that worries me even more

For me it's about looking at the risks and deciding which risks I want to take. Penetrative sex is a higher risk than oral, but of course both carry risks. My concern in my particular case was that they didn't even seem to understand that there was a risk...almost like they assumed an STi could only be transmitted between a man and a woman, not from a woman to a woman. If they are so naive about the risks then I assumed (perhaps wrongly) that they were a couple that would only go to the clinic if they had symptoms, and that this one condom kept everyone 100% safe from harm. We all take risks, but it's about deciding the level of risk you want to take.

what astounds me is the belief that there is less risk of transmission via oral across the board. that's not the case. gonnorhea, chlamydia, syphllis, trichimonas, herpes and hpv are all passed as readily via oral contact as penetrative sexual contact. hepatitis and hiv are unknown but *suspected* to be transmitted less easily unless there is an open wound in the mouth.

I would hope it is common sense that condom is changed every time there is new contact so to speak, but as above said where does it end? fingers, tongues etc going to put together a swingers survival kit of condom, femidon, mouth wash, Hand gel, gum shield and boxing gloves!

At the end of the day the only way to be certain is to get checked frequently and strike a balance between fun and safety. We all make a choice to engage in sexual activity, and accept the risks that come with it as well as the responsibility to ensure our own health is intact.

Overall we are all a well educated lot and i have heard of far more doses being caught by random d*unken pick ups than in swinging.
