Am I worrying over nothing?

hiding from cock pics.

I have nothing to hide but like my privacy and don't feel my colleagues, extended family and neighbours need to know any details about my sex life.

I had a few messages today from someone who joined a few weeks ago and had no clear pics.i suggested a quick cam face to face.

He seemed to want too many details about where I live, what I work as and my area, and I felt a little unnerved.

I politely ended the video chat, and when I got a message inviting me for a drink I explained I didn't feel the chemistry and will maybe see him at a social.

Within 10 mins he had left the site.

I just feel like maybe he was trying to find stuff about me for someone as I did not recognise him at all. ( have had a few get a little stalkerish and so I am slightly wary.

What's the forumites impression,

Thank you x

Personal opinion is it's done & dusted so whatever the reasoning behind the Poirot act matters naught.

Put another tick in the "nutjob" column and crack on

I had this on another site, set up 11 fake profiles, I knew it was him, it started because I knocked him back

Do you think this could be the same thing, you just didn't know who he was before?

hiding from cock pics.

It is possible... I'll keep an eye out for that.

I will just put it down to experience as yes as mentioned above there is nothing to be done x

In the vanilla world those questions would probably be considered normal in a getting to know you type way. I suspect some who don't value discretion would fail to realise that they are far less appropriate on here. Add to that, that as we know you are quite a secretive person generally maybe you are misreading it? I certainly hope so

If you felt uncomfortable then ending the call was the right thing to do. If you didnt give any details to him then I would not worry to much. Unfortunately we all come across idiots on sites like these and in the real world... and be happy

I hope so too... It just was a little uncomfortable but there's nothing to be done, I just value my privacy and there was something a little strange going on with the conversation.

I'm going to put it down to experience.

asking someone where they live and what they do for a living are pretty tame questions, however if you had already said, for arguments sake, rotherham and a civil servant, and they had pushed for more details, then we would have thought it a little more than just a friendly chat too, so yes, you were probably right to be overly cautious.

would it have been something more sinister, say someone in your life trying to find things out? who knows. do you have any reason to think there are people around about you that would want to know these kinds of things?

if not then just put it down to being a little oversuspicious and carry on.

wouldnt let it bother you

Did you give enough info to allow him to identify your house or workplace? If not you have nothing to worry about.

I didn't give enough details to identify my work or my street, I realise than skirting these issues is tame but I was being pushed for details, more than just a casual taking of interest, I'm ok with it mostly now as I realise there's nothing I can do, it just was a little unnerving...

I've been asked a little about these kind of things many times, this felt a little different, slightly more pushed for details.

There's really nothing that can get me in to trouble really as I have nothing to hide I just like to keep myself quite private.

Anybody asking for location, work and personal information we would avoid as its not needed for having fun here. If you think they are a stalker you may well be right so block and move on there are 1000's of others.

Brigadoon

I've had a few guys get too inquisitive with their questions, it's probably just their style of chat but as a woman who lives alone I'm particular about who gets what information about me.

I've even had some get defensive and aggressive when I've explained that I don't give that kind of information out. That's the end of the conversation right then.

I think people give far to much personal information too quickly to people on the web, not just on this site.

Personally unless youve chatted for a while and seen pics of him, I wouldnt tell him anything other than your sexual interests, after all thats why your here apparently, I'd be very cautious of someone wanting to know my address or where I work, your right to be cautious in my opinion

Obviously only you know how the tone of the conversation went as to whether looking at it objectively - whether it was " wrong" or not. Lots of guys are a bit nervous and ask the standard fare of questions -I get asked them all the time - never had a problem hun x Im sure its just fine xxx

Brighton - even Hove!

Humans still have a 'gut' instinct and despite all our technological wonders, it pays to listen to it. If you have doubts, don't do it...you did the right thing. Listen to your body.

Absolutely right - always follow your first instincts.

Doesn't matter if it's just a vague unease, or if it's the full "Screaming klaxon and somebody shouting Dive-Dive-Dive" - it's time to get out....

If it's somebody who makes you feel like that then you wouldn't be comfortable getting any closer to them anyway,.

Take the time - there are a lot of genuine, sensitive, understanding people on here; they are the ones that are worth taking the trouble to find....

If you really feel there is cause for concern you could delete your profile and re invent yourself,,,, new area , new pics etc.

I don't see why you should have to do this but it might give you peace of mind,
