Best way to store videos and pictures?

Hello my FAB friends.

I am looking for some advice on how best to store the naughty videos and pictures that I have recently taken with my FB....

I am paranoid that I will accidentally upload them to a popular social media site or risk someone finding then on my phone. ..

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

HanS

Download and install truecrypt

It's free and military grade encryption

All our pics are stored on an encrypted USB external drive

I also have a waterproof USB that I wear as jewellery.... Stores our pics plus bank details etc...all with truecrypt

Hth

I use dropbox, sugarsync and SkyDrive on MSN. Got 50GB free from Samsung on dropbox, couple of GB free on sugarsync and SkyDrive I'm sure is 70GB Free. Quite easy to upload and can only see them if you login to your email address and set them as private so noone else can see them or make a new email address and don't add any contacts, you still got your 70GB Free storage.

Ta... Profile bollox all true

Forgot to say that there isn't actually an installation to do with truecrypt

You it on the USB or wherever, and then just run it as required

Piece of piss to use.... Hide your truecrypy data file in a bunch of normal crap...word docs etc

We have nothing uncrypted and use the pics in photoshop etc directly when unlocked/decrypted

Obviously as soon as you post pics on here they are on the Internet forever....hence my editing of faces etc....although our tats are a bit of a giveaway lol

Truecrypt is wonderful and free but does require you to have certain permissions as a user so may not run on work or public machines that have been locked down.

Great program. Encrypted on an external drive is as safe as can be.

Use truecrypt. You can encrypt an entire drive, or just make an volume on an existing drive. There's no need to install true crypt either. It'll work in what they call "traveller" mode, which means it should work on most pc's. It's also available for Mac, if that matters.

SkyDrive/Dropbox are really useful as you get online backup, so now chance of losing everything to a corrupted drive. Just make sure you pick a good password. Write it down - your not likely to be burgled for your online passwords unless your name is Blofelt.

Sadly SugarSync becomes pay for only from Feb. Really good service if you don't mind paying

Trucrypt free and is brilliant. Google it. You could also open a google+ account and use the photos storage there -just make sure you make all albums private.

Bath ish

you seriously think you can trust google to keep any thing safe

ihave tried to use truecrypt but its not as staight forward as it should be and i cant find any really good help files or on line

you can also buy usb physical locks that fit over the socket of the usb simple but perhaps possible to smash off

This, or for your phone you could use (for android) Audio Manager, looks and acts like an app for sound on your phone but when you hold a secret button you put in your code and can access all the hidden files sorted behind the false front. This is what I use, there is also a similar one for Iphone users which acts as a calculator I believe and when you put a certain code in again it opens up to view your files for you to see.

That's just if you don't want to transfer them to your computer. Also leaving them on your phone means you can view them any time.

Hopefully helpful for you.

Nothing digital is ever 100percent safe. If criminals can access your bank details be fairly sure that they can access you home media if they choose to do so.

HOWEVER, things were no safer prior to the digital age. Your house could still be broken into and photos and videos stolen.

I would think seriously before agreeing to keep anything that has both your faces and a sexual with a FB on it. Could you afford the fall out of a fall out? So to speak

Microsoft BitLocker. Brilliant. Use with a TPM chip if your pc has one, or use as a software application. Regardless, select full disk encryption.

I think so yes! No-one can see the pictures no personal information needed to open a google account everything is passworded and completely private. We've had no issues whatsoever.

You're quite right in a way though. Wouldnt trust them with any information whatsoever but that goes for every online company.

East Grinstead

SkyDrive did at one time have rules about nudity let alone sex, and some got their whole MS account locked. Maybe t&c have changed.

Usb stick in the safe ie: so even if pc gets hacked it cannot be had is a good one.
