Breaking the ice

What's the best way to break the ice?

If I met someone in a pub or bar, normally I'd say Hi, how are you, before offering to buy a drink. Saying "Hi, how are you" seems to be a big NO NO on here (unfortunately I can't buy anyone a drink on here).

That's like saying what is the x factor really. You just have to try and spark their interest. Write something specific to their profile. Make it a bit numerous etc

My guess would be to use the same way you broke the ice with the other people you have met from here

Costa Blanca Spain...

Just walk up and say "Polar Bear" when you get a confused look and a "what"? just say, "well it breaks the ice doesn't it" will guarantee you at least a smile.

Thing is 'how are you?' in a bar is accompanied by a smile, body language and overall package.

'How are you?' here is accompanied by a cock pic and 100 other 'how are you?'

"will guarantee you at least a smile."

That could be the rictus grin of fear as you slowly back away from the loony or the condescending smile of pity for somebody who is obviously suffering from a disorder.

Tbh I think if any guy has figured this out he is certainly not going to let on - being a single guy on here is tough enough as it is.

My advice would be to sit down and write an idea of what you would like to try. Then send a few out and see if it sticks. If not, adapt it and try again. Trial and error approach. Just don't let the message lose the essence of who you are - I'd rather never get a single reply with messages that reflect me then responses from a made up guy.

I personally think 'Hi how are you' is fine...if someone is interested in what they see and like how you look they are interested ...

What does a polar bear weigh?

I don't know either but it breaks the ice.

In my opinion, a one liner is unlikely to warrant a response (trust me I've tried before!). What I tend to do now is whenever I see a female/couple that I like, I read through their profile and try to incorporate their wording into my reply. I'm not saying this is the correct method, I'm just letting you know how I do it. Good luck OP!

The best messages we've had from single males on here are ones who've read through our profile and message us based on that. We also like to be spoken to as a couple, not just as a single lady.

Any "hi how r u", "I would love to spunk in her" etc. type messages don't get a second glance.

I wish people would take note. Winks get ignored, " hi how are you"pretty much the same. The advice of comment about something on profile is tricky too when lazy bastards write " ask me" or " will fill in.later" and no doubt they still get heaps of responses.....

I think the main problem on here is single guys out number every other group put together so there is alot for fems/couples to choose from

This means as a single guy you get "no thanx" (if anything) alot more then "hi nice to meet you im... "

This means guys get lazy i admit i put very little in the first message normally on the lines of " hi (name/s) im james was wondering if you would like a chat at some point" short sweet i may add references from their profile

But i personally fined it hard to start a conversation when i dont know what they are like

So i understand that couples and fems get dozens if not more messages a day but maybe if we get rid of "this aint face book" and start talking form friends and interact a little better (i am happy to talk to anyone) maybe it would work a little better on here and the main benafit i can see is it would very quickly out the time wasters

Like someone else has mentioned, if you are someone's type then they will probably message back if the message is polite, short and to the point. I like messages that make me laugh, hi is a bit boring but I have replied to some and found the person to be a right laugh. I've also had guys that were so my type and local who message the fancy a fuck message or similar and they get deleted.

Never buy a girl a drink that quick . Get them to buy the first one.

Do you want a girl that wants you for your wallet or for your body .

We try to answer every message altho sometimes it's easier just to clear the whole lot.

If there is a pic attached then at least we can see who's talking to us. It doesn't have to be face if you're shy. A body shot is great a cock pic is pointless to send.

If you say nothing in a message you'll get very little back. If you write a complete sentence or two and mention something from our profile, we will write more back.

The "hey let's hook up" or words to that effect message with no pic and the profile has non either may get a long answer pointing out how you're wasting your time because you have sent nothing for us to look at.
