I keep on

getting messages that seem very personal as in you would only know that if you know me off of fab but the user then deletes the account so I have know ideal who it is. Different username each time and no pics. Starting to creep me out a wee bit. What can I do about it?

In your message filters, block all newbies and non verifieds from sending you a pm.

You can do that any time. Not just after you get a message.

Once you've activated those filters the problem goes away.

report the usernames to admin, they might be able to do something with the IP address to stop them registering in the future.

Sometimes blocking unverified in privacy settings helps,but a loon is a loon they only need to verify themselves with a pic to get round that block

Deleting profile and restarting would me no profile pics as would recognise U and there be back

Best to try to ignore and not reply,report if can

Just answered my own question! I didn't realise a pic verification gets round this!

I thought it was meet only....not the case

You have to be very careful on here we had a guy who mailed us that seemed ok after a few msg's we swapped a couple of private pics.....he then continually mail us and send friend invites so we blocked him..... he then found the missus on a social networking site. How we have no clue probably by location he continually bombarded her with friend requests it was pretty scary for her......so be careful

As a site supporter you can change your profile name.

Change your postcode to the next town over.

Take new pics in different undies and hide any tatts.

Ask anyone you've verified to hide your veri.

Hide your veris and show the summary instead.

Set your filters to block newbies and the unverified.

Adjust your personal details slightly - add or subtract an inch, adjust your description.

Wait till they message you again then do this, possibly with your last status suggesting you are fed up and leaving the site.

As long as the silly bugger hasn't got you hotlisted on a profile they've never used to mail you you should be able to duck them.

All of this sounds like good advice except someone so determined has no doubt got you hotlisted so will see your new profile name etc. If it were me I would hide the current profile and start a new one. When starting a new one I would do all of the above suggestions so he couldn't find me again.

This works , I had the same problem , set the filters so they cant contact u AnD yes thank god the problem goes away

I used to have a stalker who started new profiles all the time. I'd block as soon as I spotted him, then the profile was deleted.

Filter out newbies and non verifieds then he cant contact you. He'll get fed up eventually. Admin can't do anything really as these people don't stay around long enough. Hide your profile for a week, delete your profile pic and change your preferences/age range/post code do you dont come up in searches.

Cyber stalking is a crime and the site admins will want to know about this. They can block the user via their IP address.

I would suggest saving every message if this person is determined you will have enough for the police to act.

On another note if you have the same photo her as other sites like facebook then there is image recognition apps that can search the whole internet (Tineye is one of them) if the same photo is used elsewhere, very good for spotting fake profiles.

As above has said if the change of filters does not work then change your location name and photos, i am positive it wont take you long to get veri's sorted out if you do need to create a new account, but i suspect it wont come to that. Even a determined pervert will back off at prospect of police involvement.
