Erectile dysfunction at 22

Hey all

I'm posting here because I'm pretty desperate to fix this issue now. After reading the forums here for a while it seems like most people here are pretty down to earth. I've had an account before on here and touched upon the scene if that makes any difference. So here goes...

I'm now 22 and over the past year I've not been able to get an erection... After blood tests it shows that my testosterone is in the 'normal' range but at the lower end... the docs say I should be fine. While solo the problem persists and I've never been shy or worried about my performance in bed (or various other places ) , so I'm pretty sure its not nerves.

Is there anyone out there who has had this issue before and found a fix to it other than Viagra or similar pills?

My thoughts are that at 22 I should be able to fix the problem and not rely on pills... It can be awkward at times to hide them...

Please feel free to message me, I'm at the point of begging for some help or advice.

obviously some other medical condition, go back to docs. Might be diabetes or some sort of nerve damage though I would have thought he would have checked for that.

Definitely go back to the docs. They can't just say 'your testosterone levels are ok so...there you go'. They need to help you figure out what is going on.

Explain it is ruining your life, damaging your confidence and depressing you, ask for a referral to an ED specialist clinic.

GP's are generally not that well versed in the intricacies of ED.

Helpful! Is there something bothering you op? Have you had a recent breakup, knock back etc? If none of the above go back to your docs and be honest: mind reading is not a part of the Hypocratic oath.

"Have you recently broken up with somebody?"

Yes but I was quite happy about it! And since then I've had many experiences not only with nicer and more interesting people but were stunning! So I'm pretty sure it's nothing to do with it...

"awwwww, im a tranny with no testosterone and i can get it up.. "

I might just have to go back to the docs and quote you haha

"obviously some other medical condition, go back to docs. Might be diabetes or some sort of nerve damage though I would have thought he would have checked for that."

The bloodtest also checked for diabetes too, forgot to mention above. Luckily I'm all clear on that one!

Pretty sure it's not mental - I'm not really the type to be knocked back! I'm very much the 'Get back on the horse' kind of guy.

I didn't know there were clinics specifically just for ED???!

Thanks for the advice so far everyone!

It was an even bigger hit as I was really wanting to get into the swinging scene, it seems like people here are on the same wavelength as me!

I think even the doctors would just say try viagra and if you took it the oncethat may be all you need because although the viagra only works for a few hours you will then feel different about things and may point you more in the direction of getting to the bottom of why your finding it difficult..

The more you worry the worse it will get. The docs given you a clean bill of health so its physchological. i knew a guy once who had a similar issue, hed just broken up with his wife 9she left him for his mate) so he went swinging (i suppose to prove to himself that he was still physically attractive) but when he went to a club and saw all these guys walking around with hard ons (medically assisted or not) he felt even worse about himself. if i were you id take a break from swinging, meet a girl you like, regain your confidence and youll be fine. You can always come back to swinging, you are only 22 after all

Leeds.

Have you been tested for diabetes ?

Left untreated it can lead to this problem. But, happily, if you test positive for diabetes and start treatment the problem usually sorts itself out and normal service is resumed.

Hopefully your Doctor has asked you about any family history health issues and has checked your thyroid levels as well as a blood sugar. There are many reasons why you could be experiencing this problem, STDs, diet, excess weight, smoking and anxiety, but be honest in talking to your Doctor. Sometimes no more than time is needed to recuperate and Viagra is not a good medication of choice in my book and is not the cure all to this difficulty.

Go back to the Doctor anyway.

It's almost always psychological. Even if you aren't aware of any reasons a mental block can stop you getting an erection and it's a self fulfilling prophecy... The more you worry, the less chance you of of getting hard.

I suggest rather than hard swinging where the performance is very much the goal... that you take the pressure off and try to meet someone for soft play.

Kiss, cuddle... find someone who you have that sexual connection with and see what happens.

I would also consider maybe trying Viagra for a couple of times.... Getting and maintaining an erection with a little help can quite often remove any psychological block and you then find you don't need it anymore.

We are not all fuck machines.... Sex is best when the pheromones and chemical reactions in the body all fire up in response to just "clicking" sexually with the right partner.

Take the pressure off, don't worry... and I'm sure you will be fine. Most blokes go through this at some point.

No doubt the wannabee docs on here will impart views but professional medical advice should be sought ask about psychological help as pills alone carry no catch all cure.

Good luck.

A number of things could be the cause here and one of them could be anxiety or physcological .

Let's check off the physical :-

Do you smoke

Do you drink heavily

Do you take any recreational drugs

Are you on any medication

Are you diabetic

Are you significantly overweight

if answers to all of those are no it's very likely physcological , and you need you Doctor to refer you to a specialist.

there

Hey chap,

I've been there and done that and had the tshirt, at a similar age...

First off... Do you smoke? If you do, stop and watch the erections come back as if you were a teenager again.

Secondly... Relax. While you panic about it you are on a downward spiral to flaccid failure. Seriously take a breath and some time to work out what it is that is worrying you. Are you uncertain of your size, performance, etc? Whatever it is that worries you in bed you really ain't got to worry about, stop watching porn as a measure of good sex.

Thirdly... Consider what you want from sex. A lot of girls I know say they can't really enjoy sex unless they feel something emotional for their partner. This does apply to men too in some cases. Not everyone is cut out psychologically for the swinging scene and needs to feel that bond before sex works. This same thing could explain any poor performance on your part during one night stands or early doors in a relationship.

Hope you get happy again soon

Went through a similar problem when I was around 18, hadnt been with many girls then and watched far to much porn! End result was me thinking my cock was too small and would get stage fright almost constantly because of it. Since discovered that I'm of average size and it's the only one I've got so have to make the most of it! I found a cock ring and blindfolds helped and quitting smoking made a massive difference (although I have gone back to smoking )
