I need some advice on shaving my legs. Whenever I shave them I use shaving foam or soap but after putting a body lotion on I'm scratching then till they're red raw. I haven't been able to shave them for months

Maybe the shaving foam or soap is too drying for your skin. I just use my shower cream but I exfoliate them with one of those scrunchie things in between shaving.

Maybe the gilette is too harsh for your skin. Try a cream body wash or a ladies shaving foam to see

yeah think I'll try a ladies shaving foam

if that doesn't work and I still scratch I might have to try a dove one or resort to waxing lol

Stop using his razor. it could be that. use hair conditioner instead of soap. dont apply any moisturiser straight after. rinse off with very cold water first.

I'm not using his razor I'm using my own, I've tried hair conditioner which didn't work and I only use moisturiser when my skin is dry

What moisturiser? dont use anything with colourants, perfumes or preservatives. try going without. they dont work anyway!

When you put cream on afterwards only apply in a downward stroke otherwise the cream will get into the hair follicles and will irritate.

U can get a cream that will stop u scratching as i (mr) here uses it after shaving my chest, i still get a bit of a rash but no itchiness since i used cream

I used to get problems. My tips are:

Exfoliate before shaving.

Shave using a new blade each time.

Use shaving foam for sensitive skin or Ky jellie.

Exfoliate when finished saving.

I put cream that contains aloe vera on my legs afterwards, but not imediately. I wait atleast 2 hours.

I add a squirt of baby oil to my bath to keep my skin soft.

I exfoliate all shaven areas every night so I do not get ingrown hairs.

If your legs is still red you may have an infection from scratching and may need to see your GP so you can treat it.

Waxing is slightly painful, but after a while it is fine. I am ok with my legs, underarms but I still get tears in my eyes when they wax my pussy.

You need to still exfoliate regularly after waxing as you still get ingrown hairs.

I don't shave my legs but after being fed up with shaving, I've turned to waxing. you have to exfoliate but there's no hair growth got at least 2.5 weeks then I just leave it and wax again in the 4th week. No rash, no fuss and smooth as anything

If they use intimate waxes, not strip waxes, its like taking a plaster off, not painful at all. Try to find a waxer that uses Perron Rigot wax, as these are designed for sensitive areas.

I suffer from dry skin on my legs which shaving used to irritate. Now I use a ph neutral shower gel, either Sanex 0% or Simple pure and gentle. Both are 0% soap. I also use a moisturising lotion daily, usually E45 or an equally bland none perfumed one.

Ok let me give you my professional opinion as a beauty therapist.

Always exfoliate before shaving and never after as well as stated by one post. As you have dry flaky skin cleanse first with your normal shower/bath product using a body puff. Then use a body exfoliating scrub with apricot extract as harsh enough to removed dead skin but gentle enough to not irritate. Use venus razors as I have found these to be the best for sensitive skin like mine. Plus Gillette have that new sgave gel with olay which I find brilliant as you do not need to then add moisturiser after which normally irritates my skin too. This is because different ingredients from opposing products can react badly on the skin.

Some people like myself just can't wax due to

ingrowing hair no matter what I do. Trust me I gave tried so much but I'm just not meant to be a waxer.

Sounds like you maybe suffering with what I had, folliculitis. My dermatologist put me on a months course of antibiotics especially for acne. I'd get yourself to your gp x

You dont need anything to shave your legs. i just soak in a hot bath for a little while. (Bubble bath) the soaking will soften the hairs and open the pores for an itch free shave! X

try waxing...do a patch test first. i cant use any dove products what so ever. i react really bad to it...itchy and blotchy....to the point it has broken the skin. good luck in finding what suits you

After u have shaved and finished ur wash but still standing in the bath/shower, rub baby oil into ur wet legs. Then just pat dry don't rub. x

yes. sugaring. cant remember the name of the actual company, but women (not many) work from their homes. Think the company name begins with K. Google it. I promise though after a while hair growth is tiny. I only have mine done twice year now.

I've been having leg shaving problems recently!! but have found...

*Keep bath cool

*Sharp razor- if in doubt use a new. blade.

*Put flannel under cold tap & put on legs after shaving (this can be awkward!!)

*Don't cream/moisturise/oil until skin it is back to normal.

Just my two peneth!!! Xx

Sugaring was the start if modern waxing. Its basically boiled sugar (modern wax's have other ingredients) & u can make it yourself (James Hong) but if you suffer from ingrowing hairs this will cause the same problems....
