message limit?

I keep seeing statuses about people having run out of messages to send or having to be site supporter to message people. It is always single male profiles that say this. Slightly confused by this, can anyone enlighten me?

I got a message that I couldnt message anymore as I used up my limit. It said I'd get more if I was site supporter. It was about 10 to midnight. At midnight I could message again x

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

From responses from mods and admin to similar questions in the past I think we all have a message limit, but new users have a lot less to prevent spamming.

Any ideas when this started? I'm not a supporter (yet), sent upwards of 50/60 messages back on Weds. Has it changed since then?

Curious what the limits are....I've had full on conversations with 3/4 people at a time and never run out of messages. Or is it only initial messages that count?

The only person who knows that answer is Admin themselves But it is a large limit.

When you first join you get a limit for a couple of days I think. Something to do with deterring spammers
