At least you have each other for company and fun. Unlike the lonely individual(s) who waste peoples time and will be sat on their own masturbating to porn.

They say let's meet up BEFORE you both swap pics? And after they swap pics change their mind? Saying the words "let's meet up" constitutes a binding agreement now?

I've been doing it all wrong

Yay! Another time wasters thread! It's been too long!

One persons definition of 'timewasting' is anothers definition of taking time to decide whether to meet, chat or just say "thanks, your actually not for us/me".

Those that look for short notice meets, expect that a simple initial message will definitely lead to more, expect others to behave/interact in the same way as them, or rely solely on Fab as their source of 'adult fun', tend to throw the word 'timewaster' around a lot more than those who see the site for what it is - a contact facility, an 'advertising' site for someone's interests and personality, a means to introduce yourself to others - rather than any form of guaranteed fun providing service.

Those that use the site in a sensible manner, as simply part of their interactions (the others being clubs and socials) and who have little, if any expectancy from anything that happens on site - will rarely utter the word - or ever have need to!

In 6 years I have only ever had one person who I would consider a timewaster. And that was when I was left sitting alone in a pub waiting for someone that never turned up.

If after a few messages with someone and I decide not to take it any further (or vice versa), that is not a timewaster. That is realising that the person you are chatting to is not for you. And that's completely fine in my book. And that's bloody life in anyone's book!

The term "timewaster" is thrown around on here far too much. And like a couple of others above said - rejection DOES NOT equal timewaster.

I wouldn't say that's time wasting, communication is all part of the process and can be fun, a bit like networking ) and if you don't fancy someone then there is little point in proceeding any further.

maybe you need to approach messaging in a different way, swap pictures straight away, ask leading questions & offer dates which you're available to meet on.

its only "timewasting" if you are doing something that you wouldn't be otherwise... so if you are on the site chatting and replying to messages, I am guessing that is what you would have been doing anyway....

as someone said... for "timewasting" read "rejection"....

these types of threads are an insight to how people deal with a "no thanks" i.e not very well.....

how is exchanging messages timewasting?

we wouldnt want to talk to you now for fear of being branded a time waster if you just simply arent what we want.

need to rethink your idea of a timewaster, personally.

We have not has our time wasted as of yet though our definition of time waster may differ from yours. If you are finding it a persistent problem then be more specific with what you want in your profile and then look at your selection process and how you use the site. So many Fab users dont suffer from timewasters.

You didn't mention arrangements or meets in OP.

As long as they cancelled well in advance, and not left you sitting in a pub waiting for them, then wouldn't say they were time wasters, everyone entitled to change mind

Tbh. I don't see it as timewasting if i or the other person decide we aren't for each other after exchanging pics! After all, physical attraction has to count, as well as mental attraction.

Timewasting to me is a no show, with no prior warning given, and me having spent time and effort getting ready for it!

A no show is (a) a timewaster, (b) someone who has got cold feet, or (c) someone who has experienced unforeseen circumstances.

A last minute cancellation is (a) a timewaster with a conscience, or (b)/(c) above.

Everything else is just part of the filtering for potential meets process.

We are all here to fill time in our lonely lives, mostly when we have full balls, and have a fantasy of emptying them. So no one is actually wasting time, time wasting is when someone arranges a meet and you actually spend time and money getting there, to be let down, everything else is courtship, playing the game, certainly not timewasting. If you were not feeling randy, and had something else to do, you wouldn't be here

Perhaps if in all the discussions we replaced the word rejection with selection everybody would understand that we have to chat a little to decide who to select to take things further with.

I know what you mean, the problem is some people are up for arranging a meet after the second email, others think you are pushy if you suggest it after 10 emails and exchanging pics etc. We have to get better at selecting those we judge to be on a similar wavelength to ourselves. I still find it very difficult to access character until we meet.

I feel bad for "wasting" people's time when I turn them down after a few messages or an initial meet, but I'd rather that than go further without really wanting to, just to avoid hurting their feelings.

The real timewasters are the ones who never have any intention of meeting up, the ones to disappear and reappear, make half-arsed efforts to set up meet etc.

I've been chatting to a lady for about 3 weeks, she has been pushing too meet and I suggested a coffee to see if we click. She suggests a day and time I agree then nothing from her until the date has passed when I get a "haven't heard from you" message. It's annoying as the first time it happened I just said that if she wants some fun on the net and never to meet that's fine but if like to be open. But she said no, she wanted a meet and did the whole thing again. I've stopped responding to her messages and blocked.

Instead of waiting for the day to pass, make contact in the morning. No response = no meet.

I always contact my meets a.m and give them a get out of meet clause. So far this has ensured no shows.
