Should I meet this person

Jump to newest

I just got chatting to a girl who wants to meet and has given me her address.

But she won't give me a contact number even when I have asked and she has no verifications on profile, although there are plenty of pics.

I'm in a bit of a pickle as I don't want to go and then get attacked or something as it was a trap.

Anyone with advice?

I would avoid until you can either see on cam to verify who they are and have a point of contact like phone so make sure everyone's safe and happy.

It does sound a bit iffy. We do know a guy who turned up at a boarded up shop, there are some sad people out there

If in doubt, don't do it. If you ask me, there is something terribly wrong with someone (especially a single girl) if they are willing to give out their address to a complete stranger they have just met on the internet.

Yup, highly suspicious to share home address and nothing else...

Think about what concrete information you actually have about this person to confirm they are who they say they are...

If its scant, then I'd advise to move on....

If the address is something like "Sunnyvale rest home for the mentally bewildered"............then 'Danger Will Robinson' springs to mind!!

Have to agree with all of the above. If in doubt, leave it out.

Also 'a bit of a pickle' was a phrase created by William Shakespeare. True fact.

Get a cardboard box, fill with old phone books and write the address on a label on top!

Then pretend to be a courier - and if upon ringing the doorbell it's answered by a 6ft 6 tattooed man mountain called Big Dave - just get him to sign a blank piece of paper for the 'parcel' - and run!!!

If the doors answered by her dressed in her skimpiest - game on!!!

Arrange to meet for a drink in a local pub. If she's not up for that then forget it. She could be anyone. Not worth putting yourself in a potentially bad position.

Again thanks for the advice really appreciate it.

Just checked the house on google maps and said is it the one with a red garage even though it is black and she mailed back agreeing it was red.

So I mailed her telling that I think it's a scam and would like some verification like a last name or phone number so this is definitely the last straw now.

The fact that you are asking means you know the answer....

Stay well away, who knows what you may encounter when you get there.

Stick the address in Google..then zoom into street view and see what it looks like--always get a feel about people from where they live...

Always go with your gut feeling, a number won't confirm your suspicions. If u still want to meet her take a drive round the area but don't make it obvious and see who's loitering with intent. Personally I'd leave it.

I think there's something very strange in a single woman giving out her home address but not her mobile number

As for confirming garage door colour with you, she gave you the address in the first place so easy enough for her to look it up on google too

I would stay well away and I think you already know that's what you should do.

Sounds dodgey. From female point of view if a guy gave me nothing but address I'd never go though be curious. But as a woman I'd only give my address if was guy known long time and met before

Sounds very dodgy to me.... do a Google Street View on it and see what the place looks like... then ask 'her' a question about what it looks like and see if she miraculously disappears...... Lol!

ted.

"Well I've sent another message threatening to report their profile just incase anyone else falls into the trap.

Still no reply from either message so should I report them?

If anyone wants to know their profile message mei dont think you should go that far! report yes but not a witch hunt, she could have reasons "

mate just message the profile and be polite tell it that they have missed out on meeting a genuine guy and you wish them luck but you will be blocking their profile if you do not receive phone or cam confirmation within a set time period

Why not meet her somewhere local then give her your thoughts on just coming straight to hers if she's not happy avoid

Thanks for all the advice, nice to know that there are some real genuine and nice people on here.

Said profile still hasn't messaged me so I am assuming I have rumbled them.

Decided to avoid the meet and to avoid them altogether by blocking them.

I think I've definitely made the right decision and I'm glad you guys helped me.

Thanks again
